The word "Ero" is short for erotic in Japanese, and actually the word Hentai is rarely used, instead anything that pertains to nudity is ero- anime, manga etc. Hentai is a word used for the convenience of western consumers since they are easier to remember.
For those who wants to argue, the word erotic is seldom used even in the west, what we often see or heard is "lewd" instead. If it's normal cosplay, you don't see ero attached to it.

It's rare to see a "pro" level Asian cosplayer who hasn't had her eyes "fixed". I hope it becomes a trend. Epicanthal fold are nothing to be ashamed of or needs fixing. It just a defining feature. No different than the larger nostrils of people of African descent or the smaller nostrils of people of northern European descent.

Human behavior is both cultural and natural and humans have a natural preference for big eyes so while I agree it is not a "fix" it is objectively an enhancement.
Or rather, I should say, it's a modification that is appreciated by an objectively larger number of people.
