The latest entry into the ancient Breath of Fire franchise has arrived in the form of a mobile game, breathing new life into the series as the game has seemingly been readjusted to better suit the mobile market (or alternatively, resurrecting it as a shambling zombie corpse franchise) – though it has yet to be confirmed whether the game will be rife with overpriced micro-transactions.
The new trailer, showing off both gameplay and dragon transformations:

Breath of Fire 6 will be free-to-play for the PC, Android and iOS and will arrive sometime later this year.

Yet another game series killed off by lazy touch/click controls and focused on mobile crap.
Rest in pece Breath of Fire
yea R.I.P i saw BoF6 was like yes watch trailer....... is this even BoF anymore?
@15:26 hmm...nowadays isn't people getting more and more lazy whether on the consumer or developer's side? When a game is made for soloist purpose, people b*tch about not having multiple-player feature. Either ways, you can't satisfy everyone, there is bound to be haters.
Personally, I'm glad this series isn't forgotten and still spawn a new title, be it original or tied to past stories.
Yeah, there's bound to be haters no matter what and mobile games are where you'll find the most of them so they kind of fucked that one up...
Yet another game series killed by the mobile market. Making Triple A titles is pointless in this age when mobile games make more money and requires less resources. I hate gambling addicts.
CAPCOM just shot fans of the series by being retarded and releasing it as a mobile game
RIP BoF series.
having great time playing 1-5.
well, that completes it. they've bastardized my favorite RPG series. tsk tsk.
"Breath of Fire 6" - :D
"Mobile" - *Bashes head on desk
Great music!
mobile: where once great franchises go to die.
That's..disgaea
and one of those videos show preview of a persona rip off cut-in
*Breaths a deep breath of excitement*
*remembers*
*loudly exclaims: "BUT THAT'S A PHONE GAME"*
Why do they have to do this.
It's also a PC game! Because android emulators. #pcmasterrace
It's still designed to be played on a phone and thus has the limitations of it. If it was a proper Jrpg on a phone nobody would mind. People mind that it's a "phone game".
There are no proper jrpg's on phones unless it's a port from an already existing game. Phone games suck because of the market, because of the sort of audience that plays "games" on a phone. Real games can never thrive on phones.
I bet you don't even have a phone, not even for basic communications.
and this would be a crime why?
I don`t have the need for a mobile phone, I am medically retired and my family all live with me.
wait, is this the same breath of fire they announced years ago?
did i just enter a timewarp?
If the people behind the Atelier series can keep pushing sequels out on consoles at a regular pace. Why the hell did Capcom not do the same with Breath of Fire?
And why more of the dragon hybrid system? I loved it, everyone else hated it, why appease a small minority of fans?
Gawd damn it I would even take a kick starter funded console and PC release of a proper BOF title that is an old school style RPG over this mobile phone crap.
is this really from capcom? from the videos it felt like i was watching a very low quality chinese made game which copies BoF. 0/10 would not play
What do you expect ?
Android/iOS and graciously PC to make the pain more obvious !
It's like they enjoy raping the memories of their fans from the 80's and 90's.
Raping.
Well its more like pimping, or slavery. Forcing BoF to whore itself to the horrid phone game audience. Killing it in the process.
So it's like slavery-rape-murder.
androids are not even near the level of having the capacity to play Triple A games yet. Maybe in 50 years who knows, but right now, all we get is shit like this.
there are a few really high end (and expensive) android tablets and phones that are capable of ps vita graphics and gameplay but developers are kneecapped by being forced to cater to the lowest common denominator (not to mention java's poor efficiency as you demand more out of it). no sense targeting a $400 uber-tablet when most mobile users own $100 garbage.
the same problem has plagued the pc market for decades, until the OEM's finally started catching up with microsoft demanding more from the hardware windows runs on. however pc has a different problem now. "mom"'s new dell is almost as fast as a console released a few years ago we now see a flood of console games getting half-assed pc ports when a decade or two ago it was the other way around. of course there's also the half-assed android-to-pc porting as was already mentioned.
What I hate most about this is that it works. Companies will see profits soar through the skies and will keep making this shit instead of actually making good games.
Yeah but like most mobile games it'll probally be completly pay2win in some form, they all are.
