Fan artists have once again shown off their expertise online as One Piece becomes their latest source of inspiration, with one such artist’s prowess in 3D modelling resulting in a uniquely conceived rendition of fan favorites Gold Roger and Ace… though sadly a One Piece game with this style seems unlikely.
The impressive interpretation by Chinese artist Zhong Zhengxiang, which required the use of Photoshop, Maya, ZBrush and Mudbox:

Might actually read it if the art looked half as good as this.
No, please don't ruin One Piece with art like this. Hell, don't ruin ANY anime/manga with art like this. Let's leave this style of animation for the full 3D theater adaptations.
"ruining One Piece with art" : i'm not sure it's feasible, even within the pollock range
You know One Piece and a tons of other Shounens with animal companions, stretchy heroes, etc would look either really, really dumb or creepy as hell if they're drawn "realistically".
Only if you tried to keep their absurd body types.
I second that.
My, ace's hair looks like a 50 years old's.
Ace looks like a fifty year old here. If they're going to make amazing 3D models of 2D characters, they should at least keep a bit of the style of the source.
looks like a hokuto no ken musou game
Those guards looks like Nazi troopers.
Hey look the characters of one piece don't look like complete shit for the first time ever.
Taste. Get some.
He did. You didn't.
I can assume you think Crayon Shin-chan is God form art?
Interesting choice to use both ZBrush and mudbox. As an animator, I ask the same thing for anything modeled in those programs: can it move well?
That was my first reaction.
Creation static asset is a lot different than real animated asset in production.
Those hands are amazingly done.
kind of looks like kurt russel...
I was thinkin' Harvey Keitel, myself, but that works too.
huh... he does actually
If One Piece looked like this (and this could be so much more refined, but it already looks great) I'd watch the fuck out of it.
I'd like to see a One Piece game like this.
You can count on it not being successful. Gritty stuff is out of fashion in Japan.
I like the ratio of reflected radiation from a surface to incident radiation upon it
Why aren't they smiley?
It has some of the physical characteristics of One Piece cast, but none of the character. Gol D Roger doesn't look like himself without his shit-eating grin.
