We've been over this before. A lot of American ships are named after men. It would get weird, unless they made the American ships male, which I wouldn't put it past them.
Men and states
So why not make them men and have them hook up with the Japanese ships? Because everyone would go apeshit and it would flare up racism. Ironically nobody complained when nearly all nations were men in another anime.
Because from the beginning, very few men watch Hetalia.
Also moe otaku really hate it when some other person, fictional or otherwise, dare to touch their waifu. Those same sort are also into Kancolle. Put two with two together and you know what's going to happen, racism or nationalism notwithstanding.
Lol guys you never see Strike witches?, many girls originally be mans lol, and you cry for ships names....Equal the Kriegsmarine for example Bismarck be a man and in the game is a blonde girl lol, so is ok having a USA, Italy and England fleet.
You know, I would just love something with the characters from the universe, with some decent fighting mechanics. It doesn't need to me super indepth or anything.
