Talented culinary expert Keesuke Inagaki of Kanagawa’s “La Ricetta Ristorante Pizzeria” has demonstrated a rather unique form of artistry, one which involves shaping anime characters out of fluffy pancakes – a tasteful form of art where even failure can at least ensure that the artist will not be a starving one.

This skill must be in very high demand at all the maid cafes. 3200 yen pancake delivered by a homely tsundere maid with too much make-up and fucked up teeth.
Very impressive, I'd almost be willing to buy one just to save it. But as far as actually eating it goes, I can almost guarantee you it won't taste good. At the very least they look dry and over-done, but then again that's not really the point. I doubt anyone goes for these to have an amazing pancake.
They look like they might be kind of thin. In that way, they probably closer to Russian blinchiki. Served properly, they both have their appeal. Not everyone likes ridiculously fluffy and overbuttered/fattened American pancakes.
And those people would be WRONG.

Custom Zakus are pretty cool though, some are on par with Gundams depending on the pilot.
