this is starting to really looks like a shoujo anime of some sort, with digimon inserted along
Weird. Haven't seen that pokemon before
wasn't this supposed to air in april?
Instead of a tv series they turned it into 6 movies because it brings more cash and Toei isn't known for keeping the promised dates, Sailor Moon Crystal got delayed for over a year before it was started.
Damn, Mimi's no longer voiced by Ai Maeda. Did the former singer of the Digimon endings just completely quit the franchise or what?
BTW, I didn't take much time to observe the rest of that cast list, but is anyone reprising their roles here? I'd imagine at least Agumon and Gabumon's voices making a return, considering they were just in Cyber Sleuth.
they are hella old and retired. let them live life in peace.
Oh please, after only 15 years? Lately, we've been seeing anime reboots that brought back voice actors from over 20 years ago. Hell, Masako Nozawa's still voicing Goku despite the fact that she's approaching 80. And who could forget Digimon's unfairly compared-to "rival" series Pokemon? It's been running since before Digimon Adventure was ever a thing, and its 5 ever-present characters (Satoshi/Ash, Pikachu, and the Rockets) still have the same Japanese voices they've had since day one.
Let's not forget that they just DID bring all of the original cast back for the Digimon Adventure game on PSP around 2013.
What an obvious kid.
That sounds cool, though am I the only one who wants to see the first Digimon-movie, that is to say the horribly ass-rape cut of three movies into one remade so that we can finally see the epicness of them? I mean I watched the first one in Japanese to gain my hope for humanity back after seeing the cut one. Why would you even cut 3 seperate movies into 1 to begin with?
Because Japan has a very weird take into what can be considered a movie, mainly the running time. There are plenty of movies in Japan that run for around 40 minutes to one hour, in the case of the first digimon movie run time being little over a full episode.
Also, mostly because 4kids would not have wanted to spent money advertising a 20+ min "movie"
There are plenty of American movies with a runtime of under 50min, too. Most of them were made over 60 years ago, though.
Looks more shitty with every additional trailer. The digimon look decent, but the humans... not.
Still not feeling the character art but the digimon fights look awesome and that's all I care about. Has everyone forgot what they looked like in the first season? When they would literally slide across the screen with no animation frames during a fight?
Well what do you know. The new art style doesn't seem as bad as it did in the original promo.
wtf! they murdered the original song!!!
no they didnt you fool. This is just a remix of the original opening.
Were you expecting "digimon, digital monsters, digimon are the champions!"
Fuck that english dub opening. Screw it real deep
Theaters? What? This is now a movie?
Someone sure is slow.
It has been a movie since the beginning... First part of a trilogy, in fact.
Initially it was supposed to be a 24 episode series and in spring they announced to turn it to a 6 part movie series. so in all its lenght is kinda like a 24 episode series but on the plus side they don´t have to pace it the same way and up the quality so it is better this way really. of course waiting is the downside of all of this. and i believe it´ll be rewarded in the end.
That's good news, i'll rather wait more to get high quality product.
I think it's 6 parts.
3 movies that are split in two parts, each movie is 80min according to the website.
