The LDP-unter-Abe’s efforts to force through revisions to Japan’s military role in the face of public indifference and political opposition has inspired online “protest” (whether against Abe or instead the foolish opposition to his glorious reign may vary) via that most politically incisive of media, the online meme…

Fueeeeeeee~!!!!????
One of the biggest constitutional changes in the last century, and the people jest instead of debate. This is how democracy dies.
I am not sure if you are serious or not, but do you see all those people holding placards, the ones that are being photoshoped? Those people are protesting diet members. There have been HUGE protests over this. On Thursday night, there were estimated to be tens of thousands of protestors outside the National Diet building protesting these proposals, and that despite the fact that a goddamn typhoon was coming.
do you know how many people there is in Japan? You say as if "the people" consists of only one group of people...
If memes were actually representative of the sincerity and popular opinion of the electorate, democracy would've died a long time ago.
lol "Benkyo nante kirai daaaa!"

WTF did you even say right here? I mean, I think I understand what you were trying to say, but damn... that's probably one of the least coherent "sentences" I've ever read.
Same hear honourable Anon, I have not the slightest clue what this article is supposed to be about.
Does the LDP want Japan to have a military and try to change the constitution for that? I don't understand it at all.

they do have a military, however it's meant as a defense force only afaik.
seems china was right when they broadcasted that gundam attack snippet...
Poor grammar, will fix:

I've actually heard a lot of people suggest that Japan write a new constitution from scratch and actually adopt its own foreign policy.
I hope they'll abolish hentai censorship instead.
Por que no los dos?
They'd probably abolish it, but also ban loli/shota in the process.
Well that would suck. Then again they are hopefully not that dumb since it would result in mass riots most likely.
unlikely. japanese people are far too docile for that.
then again, we're not discussing normal people here.
No, they've already been partly acclimatized to the fact that they need to ban underage porn to protect the youth. Also, the Olympics are around the corner and the Japanese government has shown multiple times already that they're willing to "clean up their act" to minimize the risk of Western tourists causing an international faux pas after discovering drawn child porn being available for sale and immediately heading to twitter and tumblr with all of their outrage.
Never doubt the influence and prospect of foreign money and the strong arm of the west when it's told no.
#6 An instant classic!
Nah, man. #10 is fucking gold. Voting through Yes/No sex pillows? Government would never be the same.
Screw both of those it's all about the poi.

But what the hell are the revisions to Japan's military role? I'm still clueless as to what it is. Could I Get a source link to an article in English to know just what the hell people are exactly protesting about?
you came to the wrong place
That's what you get for voting for liberal. lol
For those clueless as to what the article is referring to, basically the LPD wants to ditch their country's pacifist stance and have an expanded, proper military that can send troops abroad.
