It has been said lots of times already, but Vegeta is a much, much better father&husband than Goku.
I do feel Goku has an unfair advantage at times because he lived and grew up on Earth. Where as Vegeta is still learning about Earth customs and things like that.
The fact that Vegeta had no concept of money before he met Bulma, the richest woman on the planet, might have made his culture shock a bit more shocking.
I would also say that since he lost his homeworld, he was looking for somewhere to truly call home. I think as a character he's come a long way, he's becoming less selfish and more accustomed to life on Earth.

If there's one thing I would love changed in this series, it would be allowing Vegeta to kill Freeza instead of Goku. He deserves it, Freeza did blow up his planet and kill his Dad.
Compared to other action anime now playing, it seems DBS is underwhelming in comparison. Even the flashbacks to DBZ look better in terms of motion.
As a high class saiyan Vegeta doesn't even need to inhale air to keep his breath underwater. Yeah and his one handsome devil

I love watching Vegeta's stoic insistence on remaining unmoved and dignified come face to face with the fact that this is, at least at this stage, a slapstick comedy series. He can get his macho superpowered badassery on later, for now he's got leaves stuck in his hair and a face full of octopus ink.
