The first episode of Key’s new original series Charlotte has quite easily garnered praise from viewers, as the show combines the existence of mysterious (albeit flawed) powers with normal school students, a massively original premise for certain – though the inclusion of a rather devious anti-hero who abuses said powers seems to have “sealed the deal” for most watchers.

I love how the writers establish the main character just to abandon all his traits for comedy. shitty hack writing is shitty.

That doesn't make any sense.
It was established that he was doing his "genius" stick for some time with excellent success, being very overconfident and clearly smart and devious enough to plan ahead. The moment some random student from another school tells him he has authority to retest him, he just buys that and turns into and incompetent shmuck (even forgetting he can take over people). He was portrayed pretty much as a sociopath, but suddenly he actually cared about his "girl friend"? Because haha funny, he got dumped, yolo.
He wasn't clearly smart. Any idiot can use his power to cheat tests and become overconfident.
He did not forget ability; he used his ability to try and cheat the out his retest. He panicked when he noticed he was set up. He didn't buy anything, and tried to weasel his way out of it.
Are you sure he cared about the girl, and not the shame of being dumped? It's quite obvious, yet you are too up your own ass to see it.
What he meant to say is "I have delusions of being a good writer. They ought to have written it in the same way I would have written it: I would have kept him a villain because I don't like him. He doesn't deserve to be friend with the cute president. I do."
