Is it just me, or the animation quality dropped a little compared to the past 2 seasons? Characters' hairstyle are drawn roughly and lack the usual dark shade in some scenes, not to mention the rough animation fluidity; like in that one scene where Souma turns from left to right.

past 2 season's episode 1 barely tickles me too. less original manga material, more director's original composition; functions more as recap on every character's quirk. ep2 onwards usually gets better

It's not just you: I came away from ep. 1 thinking that the whole thing wasn't as good as previous seasons. Animation and storytelling have both suffered. Even the BGM seems lackluster. Sad.
I'll still watch the whole thing, of course. And, I'll hope the show improves over the season.
