It's more likely due to how Love Love makes easy and lazy bank on Mobile, seeing as how this is set to be a carbon copy.

    How the mighty have fallen.

Don't forget that the creators of CG were so fucked up in the brain about making that boring douchebag known as Producer-san look better than the girls. Now its fans would rather rather suck his dick than cheer for the idols. LL didn't need a retard like him, that's why they're the current dominating successful idol series.

They seem to have dancing animations for all the girls, that's an advantage. Although I don't see me full comboing the most extreme songs in LL if there's so much going on in the background...

There is an option to disable the pop-ups in the background. Check the settings.

Yes, of course. But imagine having a dance video instead like in this trailer. There is no way this game could have the same difficulty as LL.

I played the first three iM@S games that were ported to iOS. The dance videos do not distract me at all. What makes the gameplay is that the rhythm lines change positions and size, the strict timing, and getting 95% perfect notes is a must if you want an SSS score. Those games feel harder than SIF but SIF's EX songs, especially the Daily Songs EX, are no slouch themselves.

"switching genres from card collecting to rhythm"

Why not both? Oh... right... Love Live...

Nooo, iM@S has had rhythm games for ages (including iOS rhythm games) the "Cinderella Girls" series (specifically by name) started as a card game. -this article is just announcing their first rhythm game in the cinderella girls series.

And to make it clear, if we lay all the cards on the table, Love Live has absolutely NO CHANCE of competition with iM@S, it's just a fact, iM@S>Love Live in every way (except possibly yuri fan service and Nonsense storyline… plenty of that in Love Live…)

Just as expected from someone who likes shitty harem anime featuring Mr. Self-Insert Male MC Jackass.

As expected of someone who likes "shitty" yuri girl-on-girl ONLY anime featuring overused scenario of female private high school of forbidden love. OH, and for the record, just because Males don't exist in the love live world doesn't make it any less of a harem anime.
(If you actually followed part of the crap/sub-par/barely existing story,
you'd remember that them getting together was actually all a big Scheme by Nozomi to create her own personal girls harem, of "friends")

Asshurt much that LL is beating the holy shit out of iM@S, retard? At least LL didn't need to have 1000 generic idol girls and a boring assheaded male producer to become the best idol series today. Fuck off, will you?

" At least LL didn't need to have 1000 generic idol girls " - Guess you haven't seen the new Love Live movie… also what's wrong with reflecting the real-life competition Idols face? (better than ignoring the professional Idol scene all together like LL does "school idols"- lol)
"and a boring assheaded male producer" - you mean any males at all?
Male actually don't (barely) exist in love live's world, the only male in existence being Honoka's Dad who's face they never even show. LL practically denies the existence of male idol fans.
