Youkai Watch English Dub Trailer “Utterly Blasphemous!”

Pokemon wannabe Youkai Watch has received an English-dubbed trailer in honor of its journey to the US, much to the chagrin of many of its original fans as the trailer confirms that the anime has been thoroughly “westernized”, not unlike several other shows that have made their unfortunate way to the west.
The English trailer, boasting its new theme song in an attempt to be “hip” with the kids:
Yo-kai Watch will air on none other than Disney XD sometime later this year.

As far as stupid americanized theme songs go for localized anime, this isn't especially bad. It's not the 4kids One Piece them, at least.

hey I'd take the One Piece opening over the Shaman King opening. This is pretty damn bad too. Damn it Disney stop dubbing shit if you aren't going to try, because now either the game is going to be super westernize or shit's not gonna make sense.

Try listening to an average Funimation or Sentai Filmworks dub. Mostly terrible VAs aside, they love to insert random cuss words where there were none in the original Japanese audio and pretty much write their own interpretation of what they characters are saying.
Watch D-Frag in dub with the English subs on, its like the subs are different to what you're hearing.
How is that any different from contemporary fansubs that like to insert Internet memes and other random stuff? And more often than not, Sentai's dubs are rushed subtitle script readthroughs that suffer from being *too* faithful to the Japanese version.
Take K-On! Season 2. They had the had the characters say dollars instead of Yen, despite Yen notes being used in various scenes, that made me cringe utterly.

Because fansubbers aren't charging $40-60 for the episodes. For that money you'd expect a decent dub and translation, not a half hearted attempt at Americanizing a Japanese cartoon. Seriously, the stuff they put in the dub itself at times is ridiculous. I can see why some people are so anti dub at times.

They synched WAY too well. Even the part where both show the "Rogues Gallery" of ghosts/youkai, the imminent busting, and the lead kid freaking out as the Ghostbusters song plays "I ain't afraid of no ghost".
The opening HAD to have been deliberately timed to the Ghostbusters opening/theme.
So... just change the langauge setting to Japanese, then.

I'll stice to watching the anime online subbed, it sucks that the NA version of the game probably wont have the option for jpns VA's. Fuck nintend for region locking the 3ds!!

One is just plain dumb and the other is as silly as it gets.
On a side note, I still prefer the scenes from the jap op. They bring more the feeling of the anime...the english ver is just a mashup of random things to look dynamic.
