Shingeki no Kyojin vs Dangerous Drugs: “Just Say No!”

Shingeki no Kyojin has found itself co-opted into Tokyo’s anti-drug propaganda in the hopes of wiping out the dangerous evils of drug use.
A video that will appear on Japanese trains, following classic “Reefer Madness” lines:
“Kiken doraggu” – “dangerous drugs” – refers not to drugs in general but specifically to synthetic cannabis, which police recently strong-armed the mass media into calling “dangerous drugs” rather than the former “legal high” (“dappou doraggu”) terminology they employed.
Various posters will also be available featuring the show’s signature Colossal Titan demonstrating his disapproval of drug use:
Fans should clearly stick to such healthful legal alternatives as alcohol and tobacco instead of poisoning their bodies and minds with this filth.

... Uuuurgh, not neccisarily. Depends on the context in which you use the word "wincest". As a european, when I hear the word "wincest", I can only think of the female fanbase of Supernatural. Well everyone has their own level of what is "win" when it comes to incest. It says right on the can, man. 39g of sugar. Sure it doesn't say what percentage of your daily intake that is but just a quick google search can tell you that it's over 100%. They could write that detail on the label but then that would kill their business. But still, they do tell you what's in it. Not their fault if you're an idiot for still drinking. And it's insane to compare any supposed evil in sausages with the evils in cigarettes. Doesn't matter if you eat chicken beaks or cow brain, even if that grosses you out it still won't slowly poison you.
Tobacco is also one of them dude, it gives you cancer.
Alcohol if consume less than 2 glass a day, it would not give you brain damage, but as far as my experience goes, people that can do that is very hard to find. Most people would just consume alcohol to get drunk which could cause brain damage just as much as the said illegal drugs and it could become an addiction too, although to a lesser extent.
So unless you really know what you're doing, any advice is to stay away from it.

Well I discovered beauty of anime thanks to weed in my 20's (so I was no kid back then) and started to watch seinen, old classics like evangelion, akira, GITS, onizuka, serial experiments lain...... dont blame the herb, LEGALIZACE ;-)

Yes teenagers probably shouldn't smoke weed, but so far as things go I'd rather them get ahold of that then alcohol or tobacco.
A lesser evil over any other is still an evil though. We need to do more to keep the youth from getting the fucked up lives that lead them to any of these crutches in the first place. This goes for sugar too. Kids need to learn that it's bad enough that this shit messes with your dopamine akin to being spoiled by getting payed for doing nothing or getting to open your christmas presents on christmas eve every damn year. Why make an effort to feel good when you can just take a pill for that?

The very concept of a "gateway" drug is nonsense. People who use this term don't seem to understand that different drugs produce different effects, i.e. everyone has their preferences and they may not even like one drug vs another. But no, idiots who say things like "gateway" think all drugs are the same. To them a coke high is same as a weed high, and a meth high is the same as an opiate high. The fact that they have obviously chosen not to do any drugs, at all, is all well and good, that's their choice, but to speak from a place of such ignorance just makes one appear a fool and an ass.

Gateway is real if the person is not strong-minded. The reason is because if one drug made them feel good, once it reaches the point where it no longer gives them the initial honeymoon euphoria, they may try other things to get a similar start. I'm 30 and didn't have drugs until recently, and it was for conscious experimentation to see what the effect was. So the issue isn't the Gateway concept, it's that that word is connotatively defined in our brains now as an eyerollingly overused word.
