Final Fantasy VII Remake Officially Confirmed

Unconfirmed rumors floating about the internet for the past few days have at last been officially confirmed via Sony’s fateful E3 press conference, as the legendary Final Fantasy VII is finally confirmed as getting a full scale remake.
The unique stylized trailer that was uploaded minutes after its appearance:
The sneak-peak clearly boasts massively improved graphics that still respectfully retain the original game’s style, but whether or not the remake will actually live up to the astronomical expectations fans have of it (to say nothing of their rather diminished expectations of Square Enix these days) remains to be seen – the fate of Square Enix and the Final Fantasy franchise itself surely hangs in the balance.

Your a tad too optimistic, I played FF7 for the first time a few years ago and, how shall I put it?, its old. If this is going to be an exact copy of the game but with better graphics then many newer fans will be disapointed. Mind you that I played 8, 9 and 10 on release and 6 right after finishing 9. I sincerely hope they make the game with the same mechanics of 15 and the same open world.

Graphics may be old (PSX 1st gen 3d is meh) but the gameplay holds up just damn fine

There's still the flashbacks of Aeris as a child and that scene with Tifa and Cloud at the water tower in Nibelheim. Main characters as children is always cute.

As someone who didn't watch Citizen Kane, can you elaborate?
Both citizen Kane and ff7 pushed their medium forward and changed the way things were done after. They created a different experience than what was available before that point and made the blue print of modern methods for structuring their media. FF7 combined gameplay, story and cinematics in 3d at a time when the dominant game designs were all 2d and largely kiddy.
The out of combat graphics were questionable then and are considered worse now since sprites are cool again. But the foundation of the game with the pacing, skill development and open world still hold up amazingly well.
FF7 looks better on a flat screen then 8 does. Fucking christ does Squalls face look like a disaster.
it's going to be a beautiful remake, I am so excited it's crazy XD hope there#s limited editions and all that cuz I wanted this game to be updated so long.
