Final Fantasy VII Remake Officially Confirmed

Unconfirmed rumors floating about the internet for the past few days have at last been officially confirmed via Sony’s fateful E3 press conference, as the legendary Final Fantasy VII is finally confirmed as getting a full scale remake.
The unique stylized trailer that was uploaded minutes after its appearance:
The sneak-peak clearly boasts massively improved graphics that still respectfully retain the original game’s style, but whether or not the remake will actually live up to the astronomical expectations fans have of it (to say nothing of their rather diminished expectations of Square Enix these days) remains to be seen – the fate of Square Enix and the Final Fantasy franchise itself surely hangs in the balance.

FF7 should be fine also. FFXV already looks and plays well so they just need to bring over the style of 7. Should be easier since they already have references to go by.

Now I need Xenogears remake to make my childhood JRPG experience complete.
That thought made my night and made me sad all at once.
I want the Xenogears remake too... but not realistic. I want it full on anime. I'm willing to accept the realistic graphics with FF7 because I already know the gameplay is that damn good.
I would be content with a "real" disc 2 for Xenogears and not the half-funded crap they gave us.

Yeah no need for more sexist fujoshit fantasy games like FFVII and FFXV.
Only people who hate it are people who had it ruined by stupid people around them if you think about it. The series is phenomenal from an objective standpoint, including its flaws, obvious or otherwise.
You can hate it all you want, just realize it's not the actual games that are bad, just a large swath of the idiots who love it more than they can express who overreact in out of context situations and just plain turn people off because they can't figure out how to express themselves in those situations.
It's really sad when you realize that fandom is just love that is overpowering and awkward to express, and because of that, people get a bad peripheral experience and then blame the source.
I played a lot of turn based final fantasy as a kid, mainly because it was the only game my brother chose to buy and I was too young to make such grand gaming decisions, it literally bored me to death. Only FF games I've ever enjoyed 100% belonged to the Dissidia franchise. Then there's KH which was a milestone of my childhood and the greatest game to ever hit the Playstation. So here I am, not understanding the hype around this announcement. Maybe I'll give it another go since I'm older and more tolerant to different types of games.
Well it won't be turn based anymore, I believe.

I'm a fan of the older FFs myself. 6 is my favourite anmd 4 is definitely top 5. but any time I see faggots play the "things were better in the good ol' days" card, I cringe.
yeah FF6 is my all time favorite but just saying the 3D ones are bad compared to the 2D is just plain stupid, first FF7 was fantastic back in the days, but if the next ones sucked (some did, some didn't) it was cos of stories, music or gameplay, not cos it was 3D...

If they made a 3D remake of 6, I might play it, but others would play the hell out of it. The characters and story were a lot better than 7's. The mechanics were simpler, though not as good as 7's to be honest.
7's easily in the top 3 numbered games, and the only 1 in that group that hasn't been remade. It's about time they got around to fixing that.
Well... Me on the other hand, I never really got into the story... Im not a fan of cloud noor Sephiroth. Aerith... Well she was okay. Many of the other characters never really had any impact on me...
Crisis core I enjoyed due to the gameplay, and mostly to say the least, the ending was filled with feelings.
Though, I do hope this is an actual remake of the game... not just some "up'd the cinematics, retained the hideous chibi forms while in actual game" not for me, but for the fact that the actual fans of the series have been going on for far too long about a new version of this game.
Yes, I also am looking forward to the new final fantasy game, despite being all guys. It still looks amazing.

There are some real babes in FFVII. Check out the doujins for it. Tifa, Yuffie, and Aerith are all quite bangable. While the girls might like Cloud or Sephiroth, there's plenty of eyecandy for guys too.
