Yeah I don't remember Silica having an alternate personality or motives behind her demeanor. That's just how she is.

Or pehaps she did that coz she was a very little girl at the beginning when she got stuck in SAO. This is perhaps why she called everyone oniichan. Also, common sense tells me most SAO players who got stuck in the game probably taught her that shit and she used to called every one oniichan lol. Idk, just an assumption.

More like because she is a poorly written loli character by a bad writer.

    1) Calls everyone oniichan unconditionally despite being already 14.
    2) Plays a shady MMO on the day it is released despite clearly being a gaming noob.
    3) Has little characterization and role than being "Kirito sub-harem member B" together with Lisbeth

    A well written character indeed.

If I recall correctly, when she's first introduced, she's a slut who'll onii-chan anyone to carry her through dungeons.

Nope, she didn't. It's just stupid people being stupid yet again (I'm talking about the voters).

She was an “idol” in SAO because she was young and had a tamed feathery dragon which is something other people couldn't do even after she'd told them how she did it (which we know can be blamed on the RNG in SAO). That's all there was to it. And though people did want her in their party a bit more than the average person of her strength due to her status as an “idol”, she wasn't deceiving people or anything.

Of course, she wasn't very useful in combat, yes, and she did have to rely on Kirito to go to an area where people weaker than the front-liners generally didn't quest yet. But it's not her fault people wanted her in their party because she was a cute party mascot.

Really, the guys who are calling her deceptive are just jealous ... of a character that isn't real anyway.

@Anon 12:10: That may be true, but that doesn't change her personality. She never went "deep voice" or had a rotten base personality.

Plus that seems like more of a result of her doing what she needed to do to survive, not her innate desire to mislead or abuse people.

The ranking was for "azatoi" + "haraguro".

People mentioned in the actual ranking page that many voters may have voted for characters due to only 1 of those characteristics.

(#1 is haraguro but not necessarily considered azatoi. and #2 is more of an azatoi character rather than haraguro)

List is shit, popularity based bias towards the current trend. Going by psychological/deceptive feats people like Light and Lelouch clear this list easy. It' be first place tied between them, then 3rd, 4th and 5th place also being them.

Also Aizen fooled an entire army for more than a century. He'd rape all of those shoujo cunts in that list and make them think they liked it.

nadeko wasn't exactly being deceptive. Koyomi was just dense or more likely didn't feel like having to respond to her feelings. Her arc in the second season was her finally being honest with herself and getting pissed. So unless she was decieving herself, I wouldn't call her deceptive.

She's the most evil one on the list… well, maybe excepting Kyuubey. Good choice. I'd have placed her number 1 or 2, but 3 is fine.

Kurumi is also a fitting choice. What a great character.

Charlotte however, does not. Hideyoshi belongs on this list more than Charlotte does. She's pretty honest and decent, she just has a secret she needs to hide. What's more, it stressed her out and she gave it up as soon as she could. And if she belonged here, what does that mean for the whole cast of Yamada-kun to 7-nin no majo?

Masuzu from OreShura might fit in here as well. A couple of the folks from Fate|KitchenSink as well.

Deception needs intention. Q-bey just doesn't understand humans well enough, so he himself doesn't feel that he is doing anything wrong.

Withholding information isn't deception. For Q-bey everything is obvious. For him it's like handing someone a gun and then they complain that they killed with it. All Q-bey thinks about that is, well shit, guns kill. Didn't you know?

How do you explain his actions during the series where he wants Madoka to become Magical Girl? He wants Madoka because of the tremoundous energy/entrope or whatever they are trying to obtain and without fully explain the ramifications of contract he keeps urging Madoka to become Magical girl. This is not deception? He is not manipulating the opposing party into making a deal that heavily lean on their own interest? To recruit more Magical Girls to fight Witches that's forcing a need on the opposising party.

So I can urge you to sign a contract to get the latest iPhone for free but I don't tell you what I will do with your signature is not deception? Or give your personal information to marketing companies so they can spam your mailbox and email while I get the money is not deception?

I recruit you to become a test subject (taking out your organs, part of your brain, heart, kidney) to cure Ebola which can temporarily help people. But deep down I know that the virus will mutate within you and become a worse threat and will need a new test subject? That's totally ok?

Someone else mentions how they thought what He/They are doing is mutually beneficial. I have few questions: did they care if the Madoka's witch will destroy Earth? They said: "We've made our quota with this planet already. I guess we'll need to find alternative means." So Q-bey had human's best interest in mind? Or they were simply viewed as resources with bit of intelligence?

Those who thinks Q-bey is not deceitful. Please demonstrate this by putting your real name, SSN, address, bank account number, PIN here. Help me understand that Q-bey is neutral. I don't intend to do anything with your information.

I think kyuubey isn't higher up because he/she/they never intended to be deceitful. They actually thought what they were doing was a mutually beneficial relationship between humans and their kind and never understood what humans found so objectionable about it.
Why isn't ayatsuji from amagami on here though.
