True, but depending on the circumstances, I might choose one of this. I mean, for example, if it was my last wish before an execution I might go for some "eternal" anime like Conan, One Piece or thelike. I would die of old age before finishing them!

Especially Clannad at the top?? I can't believe so many people fall for that formulaic fluff. How can anyone cry over characters that look so derpy and bug-eyed, let alone take them seriously?! That goes for all Key anime.

Well, this list kind of makes sense. After watching a great anime you wouldn't exactly feel like wanting to die, so they picked shitty ones.
Good conclusion, it's a "after I watched this I may as well die already" list.

My pick would probably be Cowboy Bebop, especially the few episodes from the latter parts of the series. The ones with a gripping Mono no Aware-feeling and bittersweet melancholy. Gag comedies would feel kinda banal and cryfests like Kanon would just make it even worse.
The episode where Faye seeks her past and finds a video of herself as a teen. Dang, those feelz...
Hell yeah to Cowboy Bebop, also watch Trigun, Wolf's Rain, and other classics for me.

this list is stupid
db having 153 eps, if you can watch non-stop 3 eps per hour by skipping op/ed, it gives 51 hours
with almost 780 eps for conan, it'd give less than 260 hours
so how can you watch at least 51 hours of eps in one 24-hour day, i let you think about it ;p
you just watch the good episodes/fights or your favorite arcs... no need to literally marathon the whole series

I think Haibane Henmei would be fitting for a last day alive.
Haibane Renmei?
Yeah, that one is kinda appropriate for it really.
If you want to know, its about a city in which normal people and the 'Haibane' live which has one exit through the wall surrounding it and none who live there can use it. (Merchants and what-have-you from outside can though)
The Haibane differ from normal people in how they are born (a cocoon appears, grows, then hatches them more or less grown to adolescence) and the fact that they have grey feathered wings and can wear halos.
There is quite a bit more to the story of what goes on, but its something you need to see for yourself. (I.E. very slippery slope into spoiler territory)

It's about cute girls doing cute things. Also lots of emotion to make you forget there is no plot and nothing makes sense.
I really need to watch Haibane Renmei again someday. It was one of my first anime I watched.
I'm impressed that Clannad, a relatively old series, got the first place. That's good.
How is that good? Key anime are just glorified soap operas with the most stereotypically "animu" looking character designs ever.
I'll be far more surprised when Clannad DOESN'T appear on a list that involves anything related to sadness. It's basically the easy way to say "I don't know what I'd vote for, so I'll go with the most popular sad anime instead".
