The spring 2015 anime season has apparently garnered the attention of the fujoshi hordes, as a recent ranking seeking to determine the top 10 anime of the currently airing lineup has shockingly named a favorite of the rotten contingent as the number one result.
The ranking, consisting of votes with a 59% female to 41% male vote ratio:

and by the way where's Danmachi? the list still looks good if you don't count the first one though...
Danmachi isn't on the list because it wasn't popular enough with at least half the voters. Pretty simple stuff. I guess Hestia's appeal is just that limited.
Because more women voted than men. If men outnumbered women on voting, maybe Danmachi might be on the top list.
It was almost a 50/50 split, though, and it looks like all the women voters voted toward #1. So either way, the men who voted just didn't like Danmachi as much as the shows that are actually trying to entertain you this season.

Reverse Fruit Basket Studio should be the one to make Ship-Musume S2. The 3D CG quality is much better than the Ship-Musume S1.

i honestly dont get oregairu's popularity. i hear its cos fans can relate to the male mc. after i watched the 1st season i didnt really relate to him at all so i dont get it.
It's actually kinda hard to relate to him, because he doesn't really seem to have a distinct personality. I'd like to consider it a case of character growth, but really he's more pulled around by the needs of the dramatic plot.
I think people like OreGaIru because it's a highschool club drama, but the plot features some friendship drama that a more shy/antisocial person might run into. Not that it's truly realistic, or even makes much sense at times, but it's a small step above the usual highschool drama in anime.
I don't think it has to do with people relating to the MC, but more with the interesting interactions and subtle character depth of the main cast.
In the end, if you didn't find it particularly enjoyable, then it's probably just not for you though.
