Budding French artist and animator Gwenn Germain has paid tribute to the renowned studio of Ghibli and its notable co-founder Hayao Miyazaki with this brief animation, clearly paying homage to their distinct art style while also injecting a wealth of unique visuals that would surely blend in seamlessly with any Miyazaki film.
The imaginative animation:

Impressive, very good. wish there was more like this out there.
I could watch the whole story as a movie. Although preferably with voiced characters (for which French actors would be just fine).
I agree!!
I only noticed in the middle of watching, but it actually filled my 21:9 screen. I hope more cinema aspect ratio stuff is coming out soon.

It's just plain unoriginal and disgusting.
French..meh
So says the pathetic troll who can't even draw and going straight into national stereotypes right away. Meh.
I didn't see any stereotyping, national or otherwise. He just gave the impression of not liking the French. Now, if he'd said it smelled bad, or was lazy, or needlessly rude and snobbish to animation of other countries, or that it gave up as soon as a German animation studio was involved, those would be national stereotypes.
You just forgot the culinary references, lol.
some french animation or with french creator and director as you don't know what is french animation:

...if only more people are like you and give real examples/exhibit instead of just empty assertion....
It seems like more and more, France wants to become the new "Japan" of the animation world.
well France has always had a tradition of animation, and even a buncg of collaboration with Japan, back in 1981, Ulysse 31 was a french-japanese collaboration, and France was animating Asterix and Tintin in the 60's already ....
it's really nothing new, and is only doing a slight comeback lately with series like oban or wakfu that carry a deep japanese inspiration..
Have you seen "Le triplets au Belleville"? funniest shit I've in years, and there's barely any talking at all!
FREAKS SQUELLE! MANFRA of it's finest!
Read, cry and laugh!
GINGERBREAD SOLDIERS ATTAAAACCCCKKKKK!!!
POuET!
I've read Freak's Squelle. You're right, it's hillarious. Go Ombre, I say!
"les triplettes de Belleville", please. Do you also write "tatooine no totoro" ?
The animation french school "Les Gobelins" is very famous and a lot of students have been recruted by american studio like Pixar.
Well in the past the Japanese were inspired by animations from western countries, especially America and France. Now that their animation have its own soul, it's the other way around.
You have to copy before creating, little by little, your own identity. It has always been the case.
I can second that "copy before creating" notion. Everything under the sun has been done already. Now it all comes down to how unique and defining your creation is.
Wow O___o very impressed.
The faces... could've worked more on the faces
It´s excelent, really good, but lacks that spice that only japanese give to their creations.
Only people of the chosen Yamato nation can create superior animation. Just ask the koreans or vietnamese.
One of the things that makes anime unique is that is embedded with japanese culture, modisms, etc.
*woosh*
That's an incredibly stupid comment considering how Miyazaki took a lot of the western culture for his animations. Architecture, culture... nobody was wondering if a japanese could render these western things or how it supposedly should have sounded "fake".
Don' be an irrational weeaboo.
Btw, The King and the Mockingbird, an old French animation, was one of the main inspiration in Miyazaki's life.
I don´t get that woosh, please explain yourself.
All Hail our new Frenchimé Overlords!
this could be a excellent RPG
Damned amazing
OK, so the guy can do a pretty good Ghibli pastiche. Unfortunately, what the animation world needs is a successor to Ghibli, not an imitator of it.
Wow this is just glorious.
quite normal actually, wouldn't pay to watch this
