Correct. With all the drama between Kojima and Konami, the new silent bills game was dropped and all mention of its existence is being swept under the rug.

What IS the real story? Does anyone know? He was fired, he wasnt fired, they bought out his company, he left, they took his name off of every game, they put his name back on.
Konami wants to focus on mobile games because they want all those sweet, tasty microtransactions. This is irritating to devs. such as Kojima and Igarashi who want to focus on console-quality experiences that smartphones can't provide. That's a big reason why Igarashi left the company. As far as Kojima goes, he's on a temporary contract because he didn't want to keep making Metal Gear Solid for Konami. With MGSV, the story comes full circle and we get to see exactly how Big Boss becomes a villain.
In addition to putting him on a temp contract, the company took his name off the earlier Metal Gear Solid games out of spite (and cancelled Silent Hills out of spite). The MGS fan backlash proved to be too much of a shock and they've since put back his name on the games. Kojima Productions will be disbanded after MGSV comes out, with staff either being absorbed into other teams within the company or dismissed.
