Dedicated otaku have once again demonstrated their talent for locating the real world equivalents of their favorite anime, as they divulge the basis of the recently debuted Love Live! movie trailer, none other than Manhattan’s famous Central Park.
The trailer:
Whether those responsible for such comparisons actually made the trip to NY solely for this purpose is of course likely to be subject to almost as curiosity as the choice of park…

I like how the picture comparison makes them look like giants.
The part along the river, all I could think was "Nigga stole my bike..."
cool, they backgrounds don't look like they have been traced. I think they are actually drawn and painted.
Taking a photo and drawing on it is common practice for backgrounds. Makoto Shinkai does it and you can't say it looks bad.
Yup, that's New York.
Or, as the Japanese call it, New Yark.
Actually what they call it more close to Nyu Yooku
Or, as cats call it, Nyark.
This is so sad. Japanese loli pop music is not popular and will never be in White-Black-Hispanic USA. There will be a few weabos from these populations and some East Asians but most people, including other Asians don't care for the stuff. Japanese otaku wet dreams aside.... sorry Japan, it ain't gonna happen.
Abe is in USA. Wonder how much sucking up to Obama is going on to get that rail project in California. No doubt China will do their own sucking up, but then again China is overtaking otaku ridden Japan faster and faster. Abe has a lost cause. Too little marriage and too much porn and abortion, Japan.
take it from a nyc resident:
theyre in nyc, theres no doubt about that. id say its too similar to not be but i dont think those are the real real world locations though, close but not quite.
Take it from someone who's been to a city, they're in Chicago, no Atlanta, nope wait, Birmingham.
I didn't know "real world equivalent" meant "looks nothing alike"
Some of these shots are a stretch in comparison to other shows with locations on their own turf. Japanesies cannot navigate the labyrinthine Burger Empire.
I think Love Live is the idol version of K-On!
Except, better.
And better than any other idol anime.
Reminds me of K-On! girls going to London.
What's the movie about?
JK performing on dirty gaijin's casting couch?
Gaijin of all stripes are better than pathetic japanese :)
Let them taste a real dick for once.
Ah whore.
jelly?
