The imminent arrival of Tales of Zestiria in the west has seen to the release of an English dubbed trailer, naturally leading to the inevitable clash of fans of English dub versus those of the original.
The relatively cheesy trailer:
The latest iteration in the Tales of series “Tales of Zestiria” will make its way onto PS3 sometime this fall.
The English localizations of these games are always horrible.
Alexis Tipton confirmed her role

Regardless of what you think of dubs, she is fairly attractive.
i can tell you’re one of those rejects that would fk a cow if you had the chance.
I can tell you’re one of those virgin trolls with no social life who will never get laid.
this game just looks boring, and the main character looks like an extra in the backdrop.
The story is not promising… It sounds pretty cheesy.
this games hype died when ppl found alisha was pulled from the game.the dual audio most likely was only added too boost sales.
now the most curious thing will be will they do a good translation for the japanese audio or more a made up one like with Tales of hearts R which had made up words that weren’t even spoken. or Ni no kuni’s dubtitles which made no sense when you played with japanese voice overs.
I’ve played all of my Tales games in Japanese since Destiny 2. Anyway, I managed to see some videos of the ‘localization’ and they always ruin the dialogue and atmosphere of the games. For example, Aguria comes off as insane and cold blooded, possibly an abuse victim, in the original Japanese, and the English “localization” she sounds like a retarded baby, saying stupid s♥♥t like “Zip it you little pimple or I’ll pop you.” Just horrible, horrible localizations overall, regardless of the shitty dubbing. The basic translations are butchered to up the ante on the cheese. It’s insulting to the games, really. If the creators actually understood English, I’m sure they would facepalm.
The game is also a technical mess.
Alisha? What did I miss.
Alisha, the pink heroine-looking girl in this trailer, is only playable for 3 hours in game, despite after having been advertised as this game’s lead female right from day 1 of the announcement.
Alisha simply ‘leaves’ the party after that 3 hours, she did not die, did not turn evil, was not crippled, she just left and never rejoin the party ever again(except for a single boss battle in late game, but even then it’s just for that fight).
Then a girl with much plainer design, unlikeable personality, and role that makes little to no sense joins the party as her replacement, and Bamco isn’t even trying to be subtle, the replacement girl gains all of Alisha’s DLC costumes and the party members will randomly compare Alisha to her for absolutely no reason, only to conclude that Alisha isn’t as good as her.
Alisha will still be alive perfectly healthy offscreen, but the story will try it’s damnest to make her unhappy and a non-factor to the core plot, Sorey will make several statements how he is constantly worried about her, but helping her is not even a subquest you can take.
All in all, it’s a massive waste of her character and it’s more like the writers hate her seiyuu or designer or something.
It makes you wonder why anyone in the production team did not foresee this backlash, because Zestiria already became the most unpopular mothership title in the Japanese fandom, and it made me worry for the future of the series.
It’s a shame. The replacement really looks plain compared to Alisha.
They even have that gorgeous silver hair girl and that cute l♥♥i that they could have used as heroine. Are those two at least permanent party members?
Is it even worse than Tempest?
Bait and switch main heroine just because the one in charge wanted to bang Komatsu Mikako.
So its like graces for richard but without the F
