I can see why you would want to join Heph, but even that has to have limits and she has to be selective to not stretch what her blacksmithing can provide. And what incentive would you ever have to join Loki, god of lies, deception and flat-chestedness?
Its looks like there are a ton of gods, all from various mythos, and it seems those gods have skills that either bring in money or aid adventurers.
Whereas, it was mentioned, that Hestia is a good-for-nothing who has no skills and had to leech money off other gods.
Since newbies die all the time, first timers would probably like to increase their odds of survival by having a patron who can do more than give a blessing.
I guess that makes sense, but there have to be waiting lists so there should be more people who just don't want to wait a year or two till a spot with a useful god opens up to join one that is at least not making you worse than not having a god.
