Touhou Obtains Western Release – “Finally!”

Indie game distributor Playism has announced that the legendary bullet-hell franchise Touhou will finally be making its official debut in the west, allowing long-time western enthusiasts the ability to play without being hindered by the bothersome language barrier – though many may be curious as to what took so long.
The title to be translated and released will be Touhou 14: Double Dealing Character, likely due to the plot being largely unrelated to the franchise’s overall story, thus making it a prime candidate for a fresh start.

Whether or not Touhou’s other enthralling games will receive English releases is not known, but any new information will come by way of Playism’s official site.

Actual Gensokyo is...actually a pretty dark place to live in depending on who you are. For example, you are actually required to fear the youkai because the youkai need that fear to keep existing. Yes, on the level of a Puyo Puyo game or something. Each game has its own incident story and there's a bit to tie some of them together. Most of the story I've seen goes around game 8 (Imperishable Night) though - multiple spinoff manga, etc.
already have it, if its not on steam ill get it just to compare the translations (fan made and official) and hope zun gets some money from me. GOG version when?
What took so long? ZUN came to an anime con in the US a couple of years ago and said that the main issue was the translation: since his English isn't great someone else would have to do it, but he prefers doing as much of the work as possible by himself and worried that a translator wouldn't get the intent behind some of his writing.
He also talked about looking for a viable distribution method; at the time he said he liked Steam, but I guess he changed his mind and went with Playism instead.

Yeah. It's no good having someone else hold the off switch to your entire library. If they ever overcharged you or put an accidental fee on and didn't feel like reversing it, you could either suck it up, or reverse the charge and watch them take your whole library away.
Agreed Steam does suck and if you can buy a game directly from the developer do it as you might get an offline mode that actually works.

Steam is especially shit for those users who don't have sse2 support in their cpu and only have sse.Since the new update it's impossible to load steamUI.dll because it always fails to load and steam seems like it doesn't care anymore about users with amd athlon xp or pentium 3.
I didn't know i should have bought a pentium 4 back in the day because now i can't download any games anymore since their client program doesn't work.
I think i am gonna use gog for some games that i still don't have.

With that kind of abacus it's a serious miracle that you can even still browse the internet. SanCom's javascript alone should make your system lag like no tomorrow without a spare core to handle user input.
Though if you want a PC that's more up to spec an upgrade won't cost much
If it's a typical ATX desktop you can buy a cheap AMD APU board and CPU for $70 that will be faster then your present setup.
If you playing games that can run on hardware that old look to gog as they sell older games that are DRM free.
Gog is everything steam should be though they still don't have a lot a big names but it's slowly changing.

Just go to a pawn shop or somewhere where you can get a used computer for cheap, something around 2010 shouldn't be that expensive at all, rather than complaining that your 15 year computer cant run steam.

The computer is from 2003 or 2004 i bought an amd athlon xp that time not knowing how amd athlon was behind in sse2 support.
5:50 i know it's old but old pcs need love too until i get a new one which i am hoping to get this year.It's funny the games i have are all normaly playable if i had the dvds of it but no i bought it on steam that wouldn't even need sse2.Could have gotten a pc in 2009 but didn't.
The financial situation is getting better slowly so i hope to get one modern pc.

Steam is like a console except indie developers can get there game on it, and tons of people gather through it. Steam is great for games (discounting any problems the program itself may have.
indie devs hardly get their games on steam without some sort of consumer or steam backlash, greenlight is a failure, and so is steam's ability to curate. its easier for devs to get on XBL or PSN than it is on steam.
More like Steam's standards were too high for an indie developer to meet. It's pretty common for titles to get rejected, due to glitches & other compatibility issues.

Translated is not the same as Localised just an FYI, your name said in german would still be the same even if the rest of the words around it were translated, so its hardly a case of "noobs" and more a case of you not understanding the difference :)
