The emotionally conscious Nagato and her SOS-dan cohorts have celebrated an untimely Christmas season (seemingly reminiscent of the Haruhi movie) with Yuki-chan no Shoshitsu‘s latest airing, as the moe-moe Nagato is once again the center of attention – for better or worse, as her new expressive persona seems to have fans polarised.
Omake:
I’m most annoyed by the animation style change, but then again it’s been long since the original
It’s like they have the same names, but they’re completely different characters… is that the intent??
Yes. This is a anime adaption of the manga spin-off series when Nagato changed the world. If you watch the Haruhi movie you would understand it.

Actually no, this is an alternate universe story that is completely unrelated to the main Haruhi universe.
proof that spin-offs are always capable to ruin the characters. no haruhi fan would approve to this moeblob s♥♥t.
actually this is more like what will happen if Kyon doesnt retain his memory after the world is changed. this can be seen on how Yuki recruited Kyon to enter the literature club. basically, nobody remembers anything about the real world

Same hyperbole bullshit as usual, just because YOU don’t like it doesn’t mean other Haruhi fans will automatically hate it too. The Yuki-chan manga is a valid and interesting interpetration of the story with the premise of how the world would look like if Kyon hadn’t decided to revert the world back as seen in the “The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi” light novel and movie.
But the entire series is supposed to be meta and involves having to understand that this takes place in the reality Nagato creates in the Haruhi movie. it’s not very accessible to newcomers at all.
It’s like the Evangelion OVA where they’re all normal moeblob high schoolers that is supposed to happen at some point during the End of Evangelion.
Most of ln fans hated this spin-off anyway. They are shitposting about it after new episode came out.
“how the world would look like if Kyon hadn’t decided to revert the world back as seen in the “The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi” light novel and movie.”
Well, no. Didn’t you notice that Kyon and Nagato are completely different characters from the movie counterpart? This is not even an “if world of the movie”, it is more like a retelling of the franchise if yuki is a moeblob character and Kyon being s♥♥t tier generic beta male.
Hearing Haruhi’s voice again was wonderful. But…

i actually like moe yuki and hyper stranger haruhi. its pretty entertaining.
Oh, I adore Haruhi in the YUKI-CHAN manga (still waiting to watch the anime) even if the excuses for her working with the literature club at another high school are flimsy at best.
Haruhi is pretty much the same character in the Yuki-chan universe, just without her reality-altering subconscious. But, even without the powers, her enthusiasm is unabated.
s♥♥t anime.
Indeed.
