A live action mini-series has been announced for the immensely renowned anime franchise Shingeki no Kyojin and may serve as a means of tiding over impatient fans before the eventual broadcast of the highly awaited 2nd season.
The mini-series will consist of 3 separate parts and takes place within the same continuity and universe as the live action movie, with possibly the most vital change being the shift in protagonist from Eren to Hange Zoe. Direction is by Shinji Higuchi, who also directed the live action movie.
Other characters will be making a return as well, such as comedy relief staple Sasha Brouse, and some of the new characters introduced during the live action film – which will hopefully make for a diverse blend between new and old content.
Little information has been divulged as to what the mini-series will actually be about, though Hange’s actress Satomi Ishihara has made a few comments stating that the show will cover the topics of titan research and “the invention of the 3D Maneuver Gear”, which would place it in prequel territory.
The show will debut August and will be streamed by way of Docomo’s dTV streaming service.

live action never worked really well. Not for video games, not for Animes. I sniff AGAIN abuse of a franchise to squeeze more money out of the fans.
DONT EAT THEIR SHIT!
BTW Sword Art Online was boring and the image the draw of mmoRPGs was from the beginning of the century. It was dry with subtle critic on this kinds of games...like if catholics fanatics invented the story. ("get to level XX to level yourself to XX to reach level XX" aka waste of life...wtf)Ever played Guild Wars? Or WoW?? Waht about the community and the guilds? Or do I miss the Asuna factor why SAO is so popular? ;)
how about you fanidiots make your own damn movie about this and let's see how many dicks you gonna suck.Bet you gonna see the whole movie and TV thing on bootleg DVDs and online pirate sites not the actual theater,you idiots.Hey,Hideaki Anno is taking the helm for a new Godzilla live-action movie.
Aww that tired old "Why don't you try making this then!?"
Couldn't think of a more generic white knight phrase could you?
I think ima call it quits on this shit. the hype ia goin to kill what it could have been
How much will the original author, mangaka, and their support crew get out of this? Hope they will clean out the bank for it, else;

Attack on Titan is a franchise at this point. Making a live action film and show is part of the course. If anyone had an anime that can attract casual audiences and anime fans alike, it would pretty darn stupid not to take advantage of the situation and expand on the series. Companies do this all the time; people gotta stop pretending AoT is different when it's not. It's a cool show, but it doesn't mean someone isn't going to try and make it bigger and sell it harder.
