Alright, understand that certain Nationalities or certain Era promotes various images to be the ideals of beauty. This is what the obi on the kimono was for, to create a flat figure. Also Japanese idols or "cuties" of the poorer & less-fed 50s~70s are quite chubby by current standard, and imho fugly face-wise. (The two are not always directly related)
But how can this list even...? Nevermind.
I remember an interview with Anna Tsuchiya (singer, actress, ex model) mentioning that during her work as a model (late 90s, early 2000s) people insult and bully her about her weight, when her BMI was around 15 and had to be hospitalized due to severe malnutrition.
So yeah, that's japanese standards as far as weight for women works...
