Tekken 7 Reveals New Fighters: Josie & Jin

Three new characters have been announced for retro arcade fighter Tekken 7, introducing a female Filipino fighter, another generic brooding male character and his alternate devil form – with no particular reason specified as to why Jin required an entirely new character solely for an alternate transformation.
The announcement was unveiled during a special live-stream event at Bandai Namco Headquarters by none other than Tekken’s project lead Katsuhiro Harada:

Jin will be playable on March 31st while his Devil form will arrive April 7th, Josie however has no planned release date at the moment – all three fighters were apparently meant to be shown later down the line but an earlier leak had forced the developers to change up their schedule.

I don't know about you, but I'm pretty sure Jin has been a rather iconic character ever since the first game.
Jin wasn't in the first game. You're thinking of Kazuya. Jin's first game was Tekken 3 (which, to be fair, was almost 20 years ago now - wow time flies)

i've watched Ichi the Killer movie done by Takashi Miike which is based on Hideo Yamamoto's manga years ago and the lead's so obsessed with Tekken.Still waiting for the character to appear in the game.

I just wish they'd name her differently and changed her outfit. I can't help but chuckle every time I think of her name. Also, her outfit looks makes her look more like a Brazilian.

Actually, Rizal is a very rare Surname for a Filipino/Filipina.
Common surnames are Latin (Garcia, Lopez, Morales, Marquez, Diaz, Solis, Soto, Cruz, Velasquez and many more) and Chinese (Tan, Lim, Uy, Wong, etc).

Umm...I don't get it, Jin has been around as a playable character in Tekken for a while, and his devil form has been playable for a couple of games as well. I have Tekken 5, and they are both playable there. So how is this a "new" character? I don't get it at all. Someone please explain?

Also, FYI, the Philippines was a former colony. The majority have mixed ancestries which means that they'd look better than most orientals have dominant mongoloid features.

Obviously the character designer doesn't know shit about Philippines. Wow....lets make a new character with no significant relation to their ethnic and slap slutty Snow White outfit on her. Plus...Street Fighter's Sakura and Chun-li are face-palming about Josie's signature combo. This is what they came up with for a character from the Philippines? They could of dressed Josie in a Kimona or a barong. Maybe even carry a balisong knife "butterfly knife". Sadly, someone got paid for creating this character. Poor Philippines. Always misrepresented. Philippines are like Mexicans to Americans as Filipinos are like to Asians.
