I have tried to not comment on this show, but I have to.
First things first. This show was promoted as women fighting dragons with mecha. No mention of the main character tusk. This was a trap. If I knew this was about Kira/tusk, I wouldn't touch it.
Second. How does a guy go from not even being mentioned to supporting character to the freaking main character. The females don't matter, only tusk does.
Third. For a show that was labeled as all women versus dragons, I have never seen so many dudes yelling for tusk dick. I see people on yuri fans, but this show was hinted as so. All guys care about is tusk getting laid. I thought dudes care about women not guys, unless you're gay.
Fourth. If this show would've came out as tusk being the main character I wouldn't have had an issue, but it wasn't promoted as such.
The writer was scared to come out and say this is for the Kiraxcagalli fans. The writer should stick with male mains and promoted as such. Don't hide tusk like he did in this show.
There shouldn't be yuri or romance attach to this show. The little yuri is just can service to keep yuri fans watching. Falling on the supporting characters crotch doesn't count for romance.
This show is harem/mecha/action/fan service anime.

In my Ange is pretty much a main character. Towards the end embryo and tusk are getting about the same air time and ange is getting the majority of it.
also main characters don't have to appear from the get go. Shit they can appear 4 seasons later if need be.
lastly I'm not sure what you were hoping for. A plot only about mechs, girls , and dragons. I dunno but by the way it started It'd be a bit difficult to end it well. I guess you could just change genders of all male characters to female but still. :\
