The Japan Animator Expo’s latest delivery comes in the form of an Evangelion themed short entitled “Evangelion: Another Impact“, depicting the bloodthirsty rampage of a nameless Eva unit in an alternate universe – and earning itself much acclaim for its astounding 3D CG.

The short may even be providing an early glimpse of what the upcoming Evangelion 4.0 film may resemble, though nothing has yet been confirmed and a fully CG Eva movie would be a rather radical development.

It's cool to see how far CGI has come... but still... not interested. I don't even want to see this in games. Sprites are so much better. Live-2D even has the potential to get me back into gaming.

It doesn't look bad, but compared to stuff like Pacific Rim it looks lifeless. The Eva movies have been looking great, so this is a downgrade. Its still cool to see.
No, its not a downgrade, its perfect. The problem would be the faces of the actors. I think some crossover between real faces and anime/ manga faces needs to be developed.

Yeah, totally agree)) The start with getting Eva from orbit was epic and then Shinji with badass attitude go rogue...I was like "Hell yeah, go get them tiger!" And then nothing....the rest of the movie was bla bla piano, bla bla gay! bla bla not listen!...ehhh...
God, watching this just made me more appreciative of how amazing 2D animation looks. This looks like shit compared to normal Evangelion.
