Maybe I'm just getting old but I don't feel like sitting through another 160+ episode show with recycled Ranma 1/2 character designs.
Why'd they skip Maison Ikkoku in the Trailer? D:
What Rumiko Takahashi specializes in is making manga for each generation. If you were of the age that got her first big series Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku, then Ranma 1/2 is not your generation. And likely neither is Inu Yasha.
Urusei Yatsura was my first Rumiko anime, and I thought I'd be a fan of her's forever. I was wrong. Ranma turned out to be as repetitive as DBZ. And Inu Yasha was nearly more of the same.
Sorry, Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku are my only Rumiko series.
I think it will be forgettable.
Didn't like it. Same crap as Inu. Inu was only good at start.
Anything Rumiko has written will get an anime adaption.

Ranma is fucking awesome, it's a comedy and surprisingly gets funnier (there's ups and downs but it's consistently funny). I think it's the only comedy manga title that I feel didn't become boring after some volumes in.
Inuyasha got fucking stretched from here to the next galaxy and lame-ass fanfiction ending.
Agreed. Takahashi excels at tsundere harem romcoms, and Urusei, Maison and Ranma all did it well with different variations on the same theme. Ranma the anime started great. The voice cast is still legendary. They just ran out of budget somewhere in the middle and cut a lot of corners, but the source manga is a great ride.
Unfortunately with Inu she abandoned her strength and tried to do fighting shonen and it turned to repetitive crap quickly.
This looks more Inu than Ranma. Not good.
I loved Ranma, it was the manga that introduced me to the gender-bender genre, and I haven't gotten tired of it since!
That said, I agree that the anime was garbage. The timing in it was horrible, and it could've really benefited from more modern animation techniques.

Actually, Rinne is already many years old and about to end, that's why they waited so long this time before making an anime.
I remember reading it when the first scanlations came out. Really it's not as interesting, and comedy in previous titles seems better. I mean I laughed my ass off with Ranma, this didn't even get out a smile.
