California startup Axent Wear have announced that pre-orders are now available for their highly desired nekomimi headphones, sure to appeal to those keen to flaunt cute cat-ears whilst listening to their favorite tunes.
The cat-ear headphones were part of an IndieGoGo campaign, requesting a tribute of a meager $250,000 for production – though the headphones proved much more popular than expected, as the campaign ended up garnering about $2.9 million in funding.
The headphones (aside from boosting the cuteness levels of those that wear them) also contain LED lights to better accentuate the wearer, while the cat-ears themselves incorporate working speakers – helpful for irritating all around to the utmost extent.

The headphones can be pre-ordered via Axent Wear’s IndieGoGo page for $170 and can be expected to arrive April – though they can also be pre-ordered from Domore for $250 to arrive in September.

Because it looks like a shitty fragrance commercial, because nobody who buys headphones gives a tumbling f♥♥k about dancing when they consider headphones, because anyone who does dance that intensely in public to music only they can hear like that is a douche if not worse, because if you do play the speakers in public, you ARE an asshole without any argument to the contrary, because pressing the ears and the video being turned to stereo quality sound mixed by a professional is a god damn lie.

I couldn’t care less about headphone advertisements, I want sound quality, look is meaningless beyond functionality and comfort. In fact everything about the first minute and a half made me trust that their quality will be less than expected.

To be honest, of all things, I am waiting for all the people who ordered it to tell me that the range of these headphones aren’t really all that good. The in-ear headphones that I got with my phone have the same range, and honestly, it’s ok, but not magic or something.
Besides that, nowehere on the indiegogo or anything were any specifications about the outer speakers, so I’m not expecting much of those either…
This thing is so ridiculously expensive I seriously can only laugh at people who got them because it’s so dumb.
