The much anticipated English release of Neko Work’s nekomimi-girl eroge “Nekopara” has unsurprisingly delivered, winning over the hearts of western fans with its onslaught of adorably amusing catgirl antics – the inclusion of some thrilling (if not infrequent) H-service also helping in drawing positive reception.
Nekopara’s plot concerns male protagonist Kashou’s confectionery endeavors as he moves out and opens his own cafe whilst unknowingly being accompanied by his family’s pet catgirls – despite his initial concerns, he allows the lovable catgirls to live with him and even help out in running his business.
Images of the adorable and often comical visual novel:
Nekopara’s English translation is of some quality (for once) while also possessing some intense fully-animated H scenes and of course complete voicing for all characters – Nekopara Volume 1 is available now.
sure they come deliver by truck in a carton box…
wtf?
“Nekopara’s English translation is of some quality ”
Ha, haha, hahahaha, hahahahhaha.
Does sankaku’s writer not speak either language or is this sarcasm? This is a blatantly awful ‘translation’:

>That second line isn’t even a sentence, it’s a string of unrelated words that only vaguely resemble what was in the original line.

>You mean ‘A babe on each arm’, although ‘two blessings at one’ -is- the first entry in EDICT, which this ‘translator’ has seemed to make heavy use of.

>The joke here is that every word contains 布団, which gets completely lost in the English eye-catch and ends up as a string if unrelated thoughts about bedding.

>’Sense’ was added -twice- in this sentence for no apparent reason, the Japanese (ご主人様 mixed with 先生 to get ご主人先生) only has it once. Not to mention the random ‘Bow’, which, without asterisks to indicate it’s an ACTION, means ‘to bark’. Like a dog. Dogs go bow, bow-wow.

>The topic of this conversation is that the cats are going into heat. To which Vanilla replies ‘oh, it’s that time again, huh’. Not ‘oh, you came’.

>たり after a verb is indicating an in-exhaustive list of actions, like twirling, serving, laughing… this ‘translation’ is so completely wrong that it’s humorous on it’s own.

>台無 is ‘to spoil’ as ‘r♥♥e’ is ‘to take something’. Also she’s not the topic of the sentence.
This is a hilariously bad ‘translation’ that make fuwanovel look like the golden standard for translation. But well, it seems people only care about cheap, generic catgirl porn rather than any sort of meaningful translation quality.
I’ll just say “yes”.
But then again, commercially available on a platform as popular as Steam … most people using it know no more in Japanese than a standard rabid schoolgirl would use in incoherent ramblings (“hai”, “kawaii”, “desu”, and maybe a few other words), so I wouldn’t count on people being able to recognise how good a translation of anything actually is.
Anyhow, the “two blessings at once” one is a debatable one, as though it doesn’t really fit, I’d say that those characters would be more likely to use that particular phrasing rather than the other one. The rest of them though, I fully agree with you.
This is western release why still censored?
If only cat girls were real and legally classified as domesticated animals… Then even a wizard like me could live a fulfilling life.
That depends on the country and/or state you reside in.
its not all that great its incredibly short with only 3 scenes (yes i know its only volume 1 so no need to point it out)
