Vocaloid inspired anime Mekaku City Actors has released its latest quality-bolstering BD which has justly ousted the atrociously Shafted CG present in some of the anime’s later episodes – though likely proving too late in boosting the show’s already negligible popularity.

nope, not CGI fault, definitely just a bad studio
8-bit could've done it hundred times better
Old version was way better. The art style was actually interesting, instead of just that same-old same-old generic anime look.

boosting the shows popularity is negligible at this point, Shaft fixes the BDs so that people know that no matter what, they can trust Shaft to never skimp on quality when it matters on any of their shows, no matter how popular they are
FUCK YOU shaft!
MekakuShafty
All these Miku spin offs have been fucking terrible.
Glad I dropped this one while it was airing
It's like they just fucking made an entirely different show. WT actual F.
This, gentleman, is why you wait for the BDs.
lol I watched this episode yesterday since I'm watching the TV version and I must say this was really the worst CGI character model I saw so far and this from Shaft! I couldn't believe it. Ayano looked so shitty and absolutely not like drawn version in the anime. The new version looks so better now with way more details and looks more like the drawn version. An impressive improvement!
Shaft isn't known for good-grade animation for the TV, but you are right, this is sloppy even by their standards.
they're probably just training their cg/less experienced animators for broadcast, and then have the veterans handle the final cut
you could've just said it's not shitty cgi, god.
CGI is not quite there yet
But in another 15-20 years ... we'll live in interesting times
It is. They just screwed up big time.

i'll be a wizard by then!
Said a 10 year old on SankakuComplex.
We might live in more interesting times much sooner with Euclid2D.
oh huh I didn't even think it was bad. I just thought it was the art style they were going for for that particular song.
Holy shit!
This is the backwards version of video games.
Where the BD is the preview release and the TV is the released game.
how do you play a video game on broadcast television?
he meant that video games look so promising when in its preview but actual gameplay is shit, which in this case, reversed (tv = preview, bd = actual according to him)
Mekaku shitty actors
You can say that again.
Mekaku shitty actors
Which one is supposed to be the improved version?
In the video it is clear that the bottom right is the improved version.
The point is that they both look like garbage.
You're kind of setting yourself up when you name your studio Shaft.
