I didn't see Seven Deadly Sins, but Bahamut is excellent. Even if you hated it (why?), the animation was incredible.

Ditto. I saw one ep. It was interesting. Not enough to keep watching, obviously.
It looks nice, has lots of young girls and cheap drama, and is about a game. That's the anime popularity trifecta right there.
Wixoss is like a cheap knock-off version of CCS and Madoka... I've endured a full season of young girl angst, tossed it out of the window after two eps of the second season.

Shigatsu no Kimi no Uso's top spot is only "shocking" if you haven't seen any of it . . .
You can't seriously believe Shigatsu deserves top spot.
It's absolutely generic in every possible way ("Guy meets manic pixie dream girl and starts a love triangle with his childhood friend"), none of the characters are anything other than broad stereotypes ("The manic pixie dream girl", "the childhood friend", "the shy and quiet protagonist", "the cool and extroverted best friend") and even the humor is cliché ("Oh, she mistook him for a pervert! HOW WACKY!!!").
Literally the only solid points of the show are the OST (and praising the OST in a music-themed anime is like praising a book for having proper grammar) and the art (which is gorgeous).
Those two points are pretty strong, yes, they basically redeem everything else and make the show enjoyable.
But top anime of fall? Number 1? Above Kiseijuu? Above the triplet of great comedies Kokkuri-san, Amagi and Honya-san? Give me a fucking break.
Agreed but then you're fighting against the masses of single males/females that wish their romance partner was loveydovey. You might call that an escape fantasy.
If my friends and love interest treated me the way these characters did in the first few episodes I would have been looking for replacements.
If you can't see why Shigatsu's fans love it, that just means it's not for you and its strengths fall into areas that aren't on your radar. That's perfectly natural; recognizing quality that doesn't match your personal preference takes practice and effort. For example, I'm finding Kiseijuu surprisingly bland, but I can at least understand why the people that love it love it.
I agreed that its just a matter of tastes when talking about ones hobbies. If this chart is based on western fans' choice then maybe we will see some differences in the ranking, however we should respect fans from other regions as well.
Every individuals has their own preferences thus the assortment of genres so that there is something for everyone out there.
It's nothing special in my opinion. I've been watching it and the last two episodes (ep10/11) have been not been great as those before it.

True. Shallow and manipulative anime are popular for a reason. Nobody said they had to be "good" to be on a toplist, just that they had to be entertaining to the kinds of people who vote on these things.

No Reconguista in G, sure it's list from otaku moefag and titfag. Really, I don't know anymore with their taste.
Recognguista in G is the biggest Gundam flop in years judging by the reported sales for the first BD/DVD. I doubt Sunrise will allow Tomino to do another Gundam show in that style again.
3,864 first week sales for the first volume, which is terrible for a new Gundam series. All of the Gundam Unicorn Blu Ray volumes reached over 100,000+ sold first week.
