Live2D Euclid “Will Revolutionize Anime Game Visuals”

Live2D have unveiled a new video showcasing the latest version of their oft used Live2D Euclid software, which allows for a much smoother transition of 2D drawn graphics into a 3D environment – most commonly utilized for visual novels, but soon to have wider gaming and anime implications it would seem.
The video demonstrating Live2D Euclid, which currently runs within game development program Unity:
The program has been available since 2009, though only recent upgrades have seen it able to actually render the 2D at a full 360 degrees rather than just the previous 30 – allowing the program to be used in a multitude of new ways, such as for full-3D games or even with the Oculus Rift.

Oh god I hope they're not going to replace actual handdrawn animation with this.
Though seeing how CG is already starting to be used for some anime... companies will flock to this if it turns out to be the cheaper option.
Some studios know their animation really well and implement 3D well into 2D. Parasyte/Kiseijuu is one of the best examples of this, they use 3D models for moving objects/NPCs in the background, but 2D for MCs and close-ups (so even if they're NPCs, if they're close enough in the camera they'll be hand-drawn) and don't cheapen out during action scenes.
A HORRIBLE example of doing it WRONG is the cheap, fucking idiots in charge of Sailor Moon Crystal (by that I mean the higher ups). They use HORRIBLE 3D models for the transformations (the transformations!) and a few sequences in the OP. It just looks stupid as FUCK, and it's obvious the people who handled the animation are probably more experienced with 2D animation and not 3D. A lot of times the models like very awkward and a good 3D animator would know to fix those up. I'm not even gonna touch the 2D animation quality, is fucking disgusting with the exception of the fighting pose presentation sequence.

I get this strange feeling that it will be a long time before we can experience it's true potential, but at least we have a start.

I think this is pretty cool. In some games I play, the differences between 2d art of the characters and the 3d models are quite different, as in the 2d arts of the characters are usually better looking than the 3d model character that I use..
They already have USB onaholes that connect with some games...
That peripheral will be coming next year.

AFAIK Nekopara uses something very similar so I'm not sure if it's Live2D Euclid. But either way it looks very good.

Reducing overpopulation is all good and well, but it's actually economically catastrophic, especially for the transitioning generations, who will have to support a comparatively higher percentage of non-working old people to their smaller percentage of working-age people.

Rift is still expensive, can not get a good response in FPS, perhaps the future is smart tv 4k ... (long-term) Some models simulate 3D effects without the use of glasses ..
Who knows will be released some Kinect for PCs for feedback .. or even integrated with tv .......
And I just thought how fun it would be to have an actually interactive anime.
