Korean development team InPlay Mobile are making an adaptation of the popular run-‘n’-gun series Metal Slug titled “Metal Slug Revolution” and have employed some stunning cosplayers from Rzcos to dress up as the lovely Eri and Fio to help promote the game.

Metal Slug Revolution will feature some RPG elements and allow players to customize their personal slug, while also including a brand new PvP mode – though no release date has been divulged as of this time.

What phones do the japanese have that don't rapidly drain the battery during any mobile game? If I play brick breaker for 10 minutes I lose 5% battery life.

Shitty mobile game, stick with steam releases or emulation. Even if it was as good and fast, touch controls are garbage for action games like these.
You can already tell from the cheap ass fake animation that it's not going to be good in any way.
finally, a "retro" game franchise that isnt ruined by the unnecessary switch to 3d garbage. granted judging by the company name it'll be on mobile phones/tablets so it'll be shitty anyway but still.

To me this kind of "animation" is even worse than if they went with full 3D for this game. It looks so, so fucking cheap, but what else can we expect from a korean mobile game?

You shouldn't buy a gamepad for your phone. Not only does it look dumb, but games like these doesn't deserve to be on the phone.. either pc or console, that's it. That said, why not revive the 3D metal slug? I remember them doing it once on the console but it didn't get far. It's at the very least, better than this palette swap and slight mods.
Calling this a palette swap is an insult to the original games' sprites. This new "art" uses that shitty tweening "animation" with the rotating limbs, instead of real handdrawn animation. And the style and colors are horrible.
