What I see on majority of those pictures, could be described with one word:
- sad
As a cosplay lover, I can only agree. Cosplay is dying.
Cosplay at Comiket always has been like this.
How so?
Cosplay used to be this innocent big event where people impersonate their favorite characters and have fun. Now, comiket is mostly a venue of wanna be av bitches putting on a wig and underwear and thinking that's cosplay.
Most guys cosplayers left the scene, and girls feeling so down when they are ignored in favor of the attentionwhores that they abandon or turn into sluts themselves.
It's sad to see very few quality cosplay (and no, I'm not talking about the physical appearance, but the work put into the costume). A decade ago you'd see awesome cosplay, 90% of very high quality ones, and only few attentionwhores, now it's the other way around. Yet the venue for adult "cosplay" is just near comiket, don't know why they still come there.
Sad to say... that is true.
However, it does not help that the popular source material itself is borderline pornographic... (ie, Kancolle) Its a vicious cycle.
Some of the eroplayers do actually put effort. Unfortunately, Lenfried's C87 can be summarized as: Abandon Ship. Her C86 No Lenfried No Life was much better.

Of course the ero-cosplays could have better quality, but I don't see the problem in most of it being ero-cosplay. It's the only cosplay I really care about and its popularity is blatantly obvious.
