One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X Amiibo Costumes

Recently arriving 3DS One Piece title “One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X” has been made compatible with Nintendo’s new “Amiibo” technology, allowing players to scan their Amiibo figurines and receive costumes of that Nintendo icon to be worn by One Piece’s characters for even more cross merchandising opportunities than usual.

Initially thought to merely be a marketing endeavor for the popular Super Smash Brothers franchise, it seems Nintendo has been attempting to enhance the worth of the relatively boring figure lines to further increase sales.

Nuh uh. You can use one Amiibo for any game supported with it
Oh okay but I heard if you activate with say Smash Bros it wont work with anything else? Too scared to try on another game. I have a few Amiibos.
Untrue. The Amiibo only -saves- info on one game, in this case Smash because that's the only game (so far?) that actually saves anything to the Amiibo's memory.
It doesn't need to save any info to unlock stuff in Hyrule Warriors, or this One Piece game. The games only needs to see the Amiibo.
One Piece has now turned into a contender as a long running anime with N amount of merchandising next to DBZ
One Piece already is a merchandising juggernaut in Japan, not even DragonBall has seen this much.
