The long awaited “Angel Beats! -1st Beat-” visual novel has just received its first PV, giving eager fans a closer look into what they can expect from a game/visual novel adaptation of the classic anime everyone already mistakes for a visual novel adaptation.
The “1st beat” in the series intends to cover the story arcs of Iwasawa, Matsushita and Yui, covering up to what has been estimated to be about episode 10 of the popular anime.
The rather chatty PV:
In addition, a bonus episode has also been announced to be bundled with the upcoming Blu-ray box set of the anime which will be arriving on June 24th – the episode will be entitled “Hell’s Kitchen” and no details have been given as to what it will be about, though it may perhaps be abundant with profanities.
Angel Beats! -1st Beat- is slated to arrive for PC on May 29th, hopefully without any further delays.

Kanade blowing a trumpet? That's very precious.
I think they should do an OVA showing who made the Angel Player world and how he did it, and what made him turn himself into an NPC. That's pretty much the only mystery left in this series.
Wasn't the leading theory that it's Otonashi who made it? From what I understand, the world itself is in a loop, and otonashi is stuck there after everyone leaves him. eventually, the world loops and he recreates the angel player -- named for Kanade -- then eventually turns himself into an NPC as he still can't figure a way out of limbo.
More evidence: the programmer was stated to have waited an unimaginable amount of time for his lost love to come back to him, and eventually lost his grip. He created the angel player and shadows to remove love from the world -- the same love the kept him trapped for so long that eventually broke him.
Isn't the Angel Player basically the world itself? It can manipulate everything in it?
and here i thought it was a 2nd season...
Wow KEY is making Visual Novels now? /s
Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuusu > Angel Beats
Something wrong with the site? The feed just doesn't work anymore? Sankaku under DDoS attack or something?
It was kinda lame how Kanade and co didn't bother to shut down the Shadow program created by The Programmer, instead everyone just decides to move on. The program that turns NPCs into Shadows in theory could have been shut down if they considered doing it.
um... she DID destroy the program. that huge pile of scrap she was sitting in where the npc was? Yeah... that's it.
No. Angel Player was accessible from pretty much anywhere, they even used to manipulate Angels abilities. Shooting a few monitors wouldn't have stopped. The purpose of that program was to remove love from the world, and with people moving on, the shadows likely stopped on their own.
The world also wasn't made to get people kick by force because they had love in their hearts. The shadow program was created by the mysterious programmer who lost his grip on reality after waiting an unimaginable amount of time for the girl he loved. I would argue that he had no right to force people out or into NPCs. I bet there are people who frequent this website with enough programming skill that if they were ever in that situation they could tear the program apart and create their own little utopia lol
Soooo... The special is about Gordon Ramsey judging who stays or leave heaven depending how good they cook????
