This episode was too much for me. I'm done with the anime.
Pretty sure the anime is pretty much over anyway. There should only be one more episode I think involving the resolution of Amane's trauma (which is a little arbitrary and forced, so you won't be missing much by not watching it...)
Amane's route was honestly the most shocking of the 5, the anime doesn't really do it justice, in the VN it does a day by day recap of what happened, where the anime skipped like a week they were there in 1 ep. They started off alright, but then food started to run out. One girl had a little dog that died and they cooked it due to being desperate for protien (body can't live w/o it for long) In the end most of the people died from eating the flesh of this one girl who died a few days earlier, she had both her legs broke, and 1 arm, and was pretty much paralyzed stuck in a sleeping bag, and she devoloped various skin and internal diseases from being in there for so long. In the VN after she passed they mentioned how there was mold all inside the sleeping bag and on her skin. Not to mention the smell since she couldn't move to use the bathroom on her own, and as time went on people checked on her less and less until they stoped entirely. Can't remember what it was they got, but it can kill in 3-4 days if not treated.
Amane ended up in Maihama because everywhere she went peopled called her a "cockroach" you know cuz they never seen to die, and assumed she was a canibal who ate and killed her classmates to survive (which was not true, she never even ate any of the "meat" they were serving, mostly due to Yuuji's sister telling her not to eat it).
The girl who died also had larvae in her body while she was still alive, in the last day.
More of that would be spoiling :).

Dude with a dark past claims a harem of problematic girls by solving their traumas one by one in an incredibly truncated (relative to the VN it is based on) way.
Yuuji is one of the best MCs in a VN i've seen in a while.

that is still called a plot reason .. because if Amane kept quiet the sex scene would have lasted longer and they could have gotten past them without being seen .. as if they didn't hear the moans as they crept in the bushes wasn't proof enough that sex was afoot .. they just wanted to go and have a look the pervs ... and next to that .. how long do you think the sister had known about it.. i bet she was getting off on the sex scene and wanted to share in the fun without getting caught.. :P
Even if it is a plot driven reason, it makes sense from a psychological point of view.

I've played the vn and the reason why was because they were bascally in the country side, on a moutain road with no real signs of people anywhere nearby. When amane walked out of the forest she was walking for days before she got out, so it was pretty damn big.

Indeed those people in the Andes survived the cold walking 10 days and then got rescued. Its hard to actually believe grisaias story when a real life event that happened in a very cold place had it much worse.
That would be too easy. You have to panic and procrastinate while bitching at your fellow survivors and completely failing to make any effort. That's the Japanese way. Think and rescue yourself? That's UNPOSSIBLE!
Kazuki explains this. Everything is too moist to catch fire. You'd need a good deal of fuel and heat to dry the wood and leaves and allow them to catch fire. There's no doable way of making fire with what they have in hand.

I have nothing against the episode and I'm not going to sit here and defend the whole 'light novel better then anime adaption' claim but....jesus christ they left out so much from it; it's actually kind of ridiculous. You might have well just made it a 3 episode OVA girl route per session set, then have this crap cut into half.
Oh and to those crying on how grotesque this episode was; play the light novel, its far worse in detail.
