The highly anticipated (and of course highly controversial) Square Enix RPG Final Fantasy XV has received a new trailer at Jump Festa 2015, further elaborating on the game’s expansive open world feature as well as showcasing more of the colossal foes players can encounter.
The lengthy trailer, also available in the Japanese variant at 2:38 for those that can’t stomach the English dub:
Despite the near elimination of Final Fantasy’s RPG origins, the game does seem to be a marvel to behold in terms of visuals – whether or not the gameplay will prove to be worth remembering is another matter however.
Grand Theft Fantasy…
Newsflash: Women tend to hate not having female playable characters, so blaming Square of pandering, especially when there have been pretty boys in FF since the dawn of the series (thanks Amano), makes no sense.
Final Fantasy has always had pretty boys. Are we forgetting Amano’s art from earlier in the series? Even with the Playstation versions that started with FFVII we had Sephiroth, Cloud, and Vincent. And that was just the playable ones.
I think people are always looking for the next thing to bitch about, but the amount of whining over the pretty boys is ironic considering that there has hardly been an FF game without them. And the fact that they are all men should come as a surprise to no one considering that FFX-2 was made (I hated it, but that’s not the point). We’ve seen the previous teasers by now and there are women in the series and hot ones at that.
Why whine about it? If we’re honest about it, the same people who have always played are most likely going to play anyway. And if girls weren’t already into FF they certainly aren’t going to start just because of an all male cast.
Visuals look nice but I honestly can’t say I care for anything else in it.
Especially don’t want to play as 4 bishy jerks with even less fashion sense than me.
…And FF falls to the Hallyu wave. Final confirmation of Square Enix’s CNBlue fever lol.
