Mevius Final Fantasy Announced – “You Guessed It!”

Yet another entry into the eternally renowned RPG series known as Final Fantasy is in development for smartphones and entitled “Mevius Final Fantasy”, sure to get diehard fans excited despite the current absence of details.
Further information on the game will be available in this week’s issue of Famitsu, though it was stated by Yoshinori Kitase (the head of development for Mevius Final Fantasy) that the game would not be a remake of the earlier Final Fantasies but will bear some sort of relevance to them.
With Square Enix’s rampant desire to create smartphone games only too apparent, it was only a matter of time before a new Final Fantasy was created solely for just such a platform – Mevius Final Fantasy will release sometime in 2015 for iOS and Android.

Return to the classic themes and design choices that made the original Final Fantasies great... or clusterfuck of modern mass-market-appeal-oriented shit that Squeenix mistakenly thinks will bring in Call of Duty numbers due to shiny cinematics?

Most people probably don't even remember what made the orignal great, since.. most people haven't played it. From 3 onwards it was just that... clusterfuck of modern mass-market-appeal-oriented shit. Without a single exception.
But.. mass market still loved pretty much any new incarnation and mistakenly thinks that FF went downhill only after the first title they've played, when in reality it went downhill since FFIII. Possibly even II. And I guess someone could make a good point, that the very first wasn't all that great either.
Just to make sure, do you mean the US "FF3" aka FF6, or the actual FF6, with Terr,a Locke, etc?
I mean the real FFIII, obviously. The one that came out in 1990, for the FamiCom (NES).
It's fucking Yoshinori Kitase. The only way it could be more shit is if he was working with Toriyama or Nomura. No excitement here whatsoever.
Why are people giving Nomura shit? The other two, sure, but everything Nomura has made has sold like hotcakes and at LEAST been good, if not exceptional.
Remember that FF15 was FF 13 Versus, and was supposed to be a FF spinoff with an action battle system... it's not like it delays FF 16 or whatever...
KH is barely better than other recent SE shit. Kitase + Nomura/Toriyama is a recipe fordisaster.

It's not the first time, by a long shot.
But also, this "objectification" argument is stupid because women look for different things than men; it could be said that a strong armor that covers the whole body may be desireable to women while the opposite would be true for men.

The funniest part is the illusion of giant he-man thighs the armor gives, drawing attention to the male olympic swimsuit covering bulge in the crotch.

FF9 and FFX were great games. I was bored to tears with FF12. I enjoyed FF13 as it had its innovations, but not one of Square's best. They can't all be the best.
