The best manga reading software is MMCE_Win32, the old version. It took me hours of manipulating the old software to get it to work with touchscreen. Once complete, it's better than any manga reader app. For example, I can go to the next file by swiping right followed by swiping down even if the file is in a sub folder. Also, it's so freaking fast. It even allows you to choose the image filter to get the best image quality. You wouldn't notice that different comic readers shows different image quality.
To read manga online, I use the Hex Manga reader app for chrome which grab all the pages of a chapter from like mangaHere. I can read online, but instead I save the pages. Afterward, I use Bulk Name Utility and mass renaming the folder. Have a batch file that delete unnecessary files from a folder, compresses the folder, and delete that folder. I installed the batch file to the send command.
I then read it in my favorite comic viewer, MMCE_Win32.
E-ink is good for books. By books I mean books with 95% words. I use an android tablet and a win8 tablet for reading technical engineering papers and textbooks. I don't play games on tablets. I think it really depends on your life style and what platform you choose. For me, ipad is not useful as all my files are already on google drive and the google drive app is very different from the full win 8 pro (desktop) version of google drive. People who seek a tablet for recreation purposes may find an ipad or an android tablet attractive. For me, nothing beats the fully functional windows tablet. At least for work, read, email and web browsing and the ease of file to file transfer as well as interfacing with a real keyboard, mouse as well as a 3D printer. (I use the tablet as the CNC/ 3D printer control panel, a real useful "hack" in it's own right). Btw, why is ipod touch still on the list? The only ipod that is still useful is the ipod classic with 200GB or more. An ipod touch is like a phone without GSM/4G LTE, like an duplicated redundant item. One may wanna buy it if their phone is crappy but then why not use that money to invest on a better phone? Not really fun to have to sync charge one more device isn't it? Got a samsung galaxy with 64GB is more than enough song for me... may be younger people have better ears than me? Idk.
All of this can be done on a Windows (not the RT ones) Tablet.
You can just but the knockoff for $30 and they look and sound exactly the same, shows you how much of a markup these junky headphones fetch...
