Kadokawa has released a video announcing a live-action movie for the popular spine-decimating vocaloid song “Nou Shou Sakuretsu Girl”, as well as a manga – proving to be a rather surprising development typical of the continually expanding virtual idol-powerhouse that is Hatsune Miku.
Created by the talented composer Rerulili and sung by virtual divas Miku and Gumi, the song grew to such extraordinary notoriety that its videos on both NicoNico Douga and YouTube have upwards of 3 million views.
The announcement video:
Nou Shou Sakuretsu Girl, for those unfamiliar:
While the premise of a Vocaloid song serving as the plot for a live action film is still quite strange to imagine, this is hardly the first time that the empowering music of Vocaloid had spawned as something greater – such as Kagerou Daze serving as the inspiration for Mekaku City Actors.

That's creepy. I had JUST watched/listened to this on youtube earlier today because it was one of the videos recommended for me.
Ok, I'm no Miku hater(not much of a lover either), but this just sounds like a digital seizure...
Nothing but fast nonstop annoying vocals and even faster paced, spammy drums all over the place.
Reverse Rainbow and No Ai Dee will remain the best of the Vocaloid songs in my book. Both are nicely paced, smooth vocals and a bit of soul thrown in to make it great.
gonna agree with annoying vocals, can't we just see an animated of world is mine or something.. i mean songs that are a common ground for both fans and people interested about miku should be what's adapted, not some spam song.. you may as well just adapt nyan cat.
I'm not a vocaloid fan or hater, but I feel like miku is the worst of the bunch, her 'voice' is so ear scrappingly bad.
But others I heard, like Ai especially, are much better.
That said I didn't find this as bad as most miku songs.
vocaloid rap... isn't something i could wrap around my mind with. i mean, sure, it's got beats but this had an adaptation? isn't there any better?
also i consider mekaku city actors as something like the monogatari series in terms of scenes...it's annoying.
rap, itself, needs to just die.
mekaku city actors was made by the same team as the monogatari series.
i know, that's why it's annoying. it's like they don't know other things to do than sell mekaku in the same animation format like the monogatari series. i may as well just have watched the music video and that's it.
Too bad rap is more popular than any other music genre these days. It'll never die.
....someone call a doctor...my ears just started gushing blood......
