Health awareness group Unko Gakkai have created a rather comedic spoof of battleship anthropomorphisation blockbuster Kantai Collection with “UnColle” – transforming different types of intestinal bacteria and anti-cancer agents into cute collectible girls for the ultimate in colonic health.
The campaign intends to help promote colon cancer screenings and spread word on various related intestinal problems, going so far as to even create a card game in association with their parody – available at the DigiGame Expo this weekend at Akihabara UDX Akiba Square.

I fail to see how they anthropomorphized these bacteria/agents. All they did was create a lineup of girls with random appearances, then staple a sign on them saying "I'm a bacteria/I'll make you feel better, chu~".
Someone, somewhere will buy 20 sets of them, so I suppose the desired effect is achieved regardless.

Well I have seen anthropomorphisation of tanks from WW2, WW2 planes, even landmines. Have book that I bought in one of the shops in Akiba, when I was there. It basically shows these girl-tanks and there is text about the real tank like where it was fielded,info about research and development etc.
I wonder if they studied bacteria's behaviour to create proper characteristics for each 'shit girl'.
