New Dragonball Z Movie Dated

The upcoming Dragonball Z film has at last been dated, and should be ready to bring more of the show’s classic shonen fight sequences to eager fans on April 25th.
The release date was divulged via “Cinema City”, a Japanese theatre that had updated its website to reveal the sure to be popular movie’s initial airing, as well as its 120 minute duration.

The plot behind the movie has yet to be elaborated on, though clearly some dire circumstances are at hand if the “the worst wish in history” tagline is anything to go by – fans who wish to know more can always visit the movie’s website.

I agree. DBZ is quite dated.
Vegeta is a badass for a second then gets his ass beat. Gohan is useless. Piccolo will be stuck babysitting Trunks and Goten. Half the movie will be about Trunks and Goten doing silly kid stuff.
And yes, Goku saves the day. Again. Because we can't have anybody else do it.

I actually liked the last DBZ movie. It was the only DBZ movie where the 'good guys' so to speak, don't actually win. The only reason they survived is because the main villain really didn't care about destroying the planet in the first place, he just wanted a good fight.
Yeah the last DBZ movie where the villain just wanted a good fight was a great movie. So what kind of wish could be so horrible they need to make a plot movie about it? Wishing Goku evil? or maybe never born?

So the villain for the movie is a resurrected Frieza? Doesn't even look different? Here's hoping he has a couple of transformations ready for the Z-fighters.

Just remake the freaking anime already. No DBZ Kai crap, just redo it without the filler and drawn out to death battles.
If Sailor Moon can get a remake, then DBZ should get one that uses the best quality anime budget it can get today.
Dude. That's what DBZ Kai is. They already cut the fillers and shortened the battles. They're already in the final saga 100 or so episodes compared to the first anime.
Yeah the original went from like 400+ episodes to 180 when they cut the fillers from it. Any shorter they will need to make the show a high-lights reel.
Also cut out the filler from the manga. Make the Radditz Battle 1 ep long, the vegeta battle 1 Ep, the entire Freezer arc, maybe 4ep, Android stuff can get 2 ep, Cell maybe 3Ep, the daily life stuff 4 Eps and Boo 4Eps.
..wouldn't that be nice? DBZ without all the drawn out bullshit.
They can do an entire saga in a 60-90 min. movie, like "The Path to Power" did to the Red Ribbon arc.
Not what I mean. DBZ had long fights, but the anime had drawn them out even longer to give the manga time to add more material.
I have no issue with long fights, but when I saw kai it reminded me that simple editing wouldn't help as they still have the important points spread out across several episodes that wouldn't have been needed if the manga had finished before then.
I imagine a remake would be at least (again, at the very least) 20 episodes shorter than Kai (which has 130 and counting) because it wouldn't need to spread out certain points that can fit in one episode and still make perfect sense.
That and since DBZ is still very popular, it could afford a very good budget and make the fights look even more epic.
I'd be very happy if they could get back as many of the cast as they could to voice the characters.

Wow. Talk about an utter fail. It's the same voice actors as the original, as the anon before me said. It's cut down on the filler and everything and gets to the point instead of dragging things out.
I love the voice acting in Kai just as much as I love the older one, which is to say, a lot.
I'd be very happy if they could get back as many of the cast as they could to voice the characters for a remake.
