This show just might be able to redeem itself with a second season after ending the first on a negative note in what I feel was one of the most irresponsible endings ever made... considering the audience this anime was aimed at. I really stop rooting for this character about 3/4 of the way through because she just isn't developing like you'd expect. I guess if you enjoy stagnation and self-induced depression, then maybe you enjoyed the first season...

Wait a second ... Did you seriously expect that an unabashedly melancholic show like WataMote was going to end on a positive note? That, my friend, would have been an incongruous and "irresponsible" change in tone.
I actually thought the ending was quite good in that it looked like she finally let go of a perception she had that was only hurting her (that its desirable to be popular and that its how she can be happy).
Yea i like it too , i don't understand that guy mentality at all. It is an anime , one that is not that dark and f**up enjoy it for what it is. If is going to be a second season then i can't wait. More dev for the MC is always good hopefully it will have.
I didn't really like the final episode either but it was for different reasons. The whole crazy eyes running home bit was just a little too over the top. She's overly expressive and takes stuff way too personally, but not to that extent. Her maybe running to the toilet to brood and then quitely going home to sad music would have been more suitable. She's not crazy but the last episode kind of felt like she was. Also, I don't remember it in the manga so Ive got the whole stick to the source material! viewpoint influencing me.
