Fans have been rejoicing over Sega’s shock announcement of their upcoming port of PS3 cult-classic tactical RPG Valkyria Chronicles to PC only a trifling 6 years after its initial release, and have detailed its early November release.

The game is already available for pre-order on Steam for $17.99, with all the original DLC and the added bonus of various inexplicable region locks included.
With PC ports of (admittedly ancient) PS3 classics suddenly arriving, there has been hope not only for more Sega titles but also renewed interest in the ill-starred Valkyria franchise – although given Sega’s track record so far, this may be a little too optimistic.

First Valkyria Chronicles ported into PC, then Valkyria Chronicles 2 to PC followed by Valkyria Chronicles 3 localization and PC port.
Next maybe Sega release Valkyria Chronicles 4 or Valkyria Chronicles spiritual successor if there is enough demand.
Then, if the PC port is major success, it may encourage other Japanese developers to follow the footstep and porting their games for PC.
Imagine Tales for PC. Dragon Dogma for PC. Star Ocean for PC. And so on. How awesome is that?

A huge victory since it is Valkyria Chronicles. If you haven't played it, shut the fuck up. I already have it on PS3 but I will most likely get this on PC too, in hopes of Sega releasing VC2 & 3 on steam as well(though I do have VC2 as well, but that elusive VC3 is the one I'm after).
