Final Fantasy legend Tetsuya Nomura has revealed that a collaboration game between Square Enix and virtual diva Hatsune Miku with his involvement may be underway.
A peculiar sign in New York depicting Nomura’s artistic rendition of Hatsune Miku had announced the news of his collaboration with the holographic idol, and in an interview he mentioned the “possibility” of a game collaboration, though not much else had been revealed other than this:
The interview, by Weekly Famitsu, inquired about the possibility of a Square Enix-made Vocaloid game, to which Nomura replied that he had already been discussing just such an opportunity with producer Shinji Hashimoto.
In addition, Nomura also revealed that his involvement with so many projects at the moment has filled his schedule until 2019 – not good news for anyone hoping for a change in direction for the rather put upon Final Fantasy franchise.

Oh great. Now we can look forward to Miku's cute and simple design to be completely reality-collapsing with Nomura's batshit insane overdesign which has only gotten worse as the years have gone on.
Expect Miku's battle outfit to be so far removed from her easy-on-the-eyes accessible outfit to be replaced with some gaudy neo-franco-victorian fusion vomited over with pointless belt straps, buckles, frills, detatchable-everythings-so-that-your-eyes-will-never-comprehend-everything-you-are-looking-at-jesus-christ.
FFXIII should have set off alarm bells in peoples heads. Yet everyone keeps buying into the lie that they are on top of getting their shit together.
No. No Nomura. No. NO!
Say whatever you want about her outfit design, but her face is incredibly cute.
Op:
Yeah, she is. Miku is a gem.
No thanks to Nomura. Fuck that guy seriously. His designs used to be legendary, but he's gone off the deep end, convincing himself that he has to outdo HIMSELF for pity sake!
Miku is a white girl -- confirmed.
you need to lay off the crack.
Square Enix has turned their fans into addicts. We want to get the same high we had when we were younger, but it's just never the same ,and we're always left disappointed...
The dealer won't stop dealing as long as there's demand, go to fucking rehab already and move to another franchise.
It's a start.

Of replacing voice actors. Let's face it, using vocaloid for the voices is cheap and efficient. Problem is, how are you gonna show the character's glory in the game everyone is skeptical about.
Stop wasting time and keep working on KH3 Nomura!
well i love my miku so i guess ill go with it o_o;
Acctually it defeat the purpose of Fantasy character if design close with Human being, But what do i know.....
But fantasy usually involves human beings unless your fantasies involves fur... not that I have a problem with that.
Get that fuck ugly cunt out of here.

This is not good news at all just look at that Miku CG from Square. Stay away from Miku, Square!
recent FF characters already look like vocaloids anyway...
Vocaloid game? Yes please.
SQUARE ENIX?! NO GOD PLEASE NO!
You know that goldtouch curse of king midas?
Squeenix seems to have contracted the opposite of it.

Looks like shit. But beter than FFXV at least
You could say you don't like the realistic approach here, but technically speaking, it's really far from being "shit", actually, this model is way better than most Miku's renders I've seen so far.
Miku Holmgang go!
Just put Miku in a Sonic game ez pz.
The world needs to sexualize children more.
That's what certain manga are for...
Don't know if want..
This already looks and sounds horrendous.
Yay
like everything else good in life, someone always has to ruin it.
thanks obama.
Please don't call that man a "legend" -_-
His work was fine until the real legends left Squaresoft and Squeenix put him in charge of stuff...
Amano > INSERT NAME > Nomura
Let me corret it for you:
Akihiko Yoshida > INSERT NAME > Amano > Nomura
Both of them got its problems.
Amano is a great artist, but his art is too much influenced by Ukiyo-e style and I don't think it fits the more realistic video game style we have now (may work for 2d sprites or a cel shaded 3d game though).
Amano uses way too much colors, acessories (even more than Nomura) and tacky patterns, not to mention those faces and bittle hair, the character really look like from a carnival parade.

For me, the best character designer in Square Enix is Akihiko Yoshida (FFXII's Vaan design were forced on him, they wanted an androgenous character and he had no other coice). He uses a much more classical approach, more medieval looking and coherent with a medieval/fantasy RPG game.
Where's the Square Enix hate train?
